Weighted lap pads are used often to help people with sensory processing disorders, autism, dementia, restless legs syndrome, etc. They're also just plain cozy for those of us without any diagnosed conditions, but who appreciate some nice deep pressure therapy.

Our weighted lap pads are 19 inches by 13 inches and are filled with poly beads. (6 lb pads are 21 x 15) We use relatively small pockets to ensure even distribution of weight. (Lap pads typically have three long channels. Some may have those channels divided into squares.) Our lap pads feature two full layers of flannel or cotton inside to create a nice pocket for the beads to keep them contained inside the blanket.

If we don't own any fabrics you like, give us ideas of what you're wanting and we can look for options. (Please be aware that there may be an upcharge depending on what you pick for fabric - we can provide some guidance if you wish to avoid this).  



How do you decide what weight? If you or your child works with an OT, it's best to ask them for a recommendation. Because lap pads are so small, they're available in a small range of weights.

Personalization available

We can also add your name or other custom text to your blanket. If you'd like us to personalize your blanket, please fill out the boxes with the EXACT name or phrase you'd like us to add, as well as your chosen font and thread color. Please also let us know what size of the blanket you'd like your personalization.

We will add the name or phrase inside the parentheses with machine embroidery near the lower right corner of the lap pad. If you prefer a different location, let us know. Longer phrases may be put on more than one line.

If the print you've chosen is busy (lots of colors, lots of details), a thicker/fatter font will show up better. If we feel your font choice or thread color preference is inappropriate, we'll attempt to contact you. If you do not respond within 5 days, we will proceed with your order exactly as ordered.

We do not accept returns on embroidered items for any reason.

We *may* be able to accommodate requests for embroidered designs, as well. Cost will vary. Please contact us to discuss.
