Beta-carotene can be used for tanning to obtain beautiful tanned skin. For the tanning, supplementation can be taken for 1-2 weeks before a holiday on the sunny beach or exposure to the sun. The supplementation can be continued for 1-2 weeks after the trip. However, use of sun lotion with a high SPF for prevention of sun burn is recommendable when tanning.
