Der Akku überzeugt durch seine erhöhte Ausdauer und Leistungsabgabe, bei einem lediglich nur 40 Gramm höheren Gewicht gegenüber dem 5 Ah Akku von Makita. Die vollständige Ladezeit beträgt zudem nur 55 Minuten (mit einem DC 18 RC Ladegerät), was den Akku im Vergleich zur Arbeits- bzw. Standzeit extrem schnell wieder einsatzfähig macht. Wie gewohnt ist der 1860 B  mit allen Geräten der 18 Volt Klasse von Makita kompatibel und besitzt eine lange Laufzeit und Lebensdauer danke der Li-Ion Technologie.
