Seit seiner Entdeckung konnten rund 19.000 archäologische Objekte geborgen werden; darunter auch 500 Fibeln, die den Ausgrabungen der Jahre 1880 bis 1916 entstammten. Dieser größte Fundkomplex südlich der Alpen ist in seinem Spektrum vergleichbar den Fibelserien aus dem nordalpinen und gallischen Raum und zeigt dabei die weit über die regionalen Grenzen hinausgehende Strahlkraft des Heiligtums von Este-Baratella an. Dem Material kommt somit große Bedeutung für die keltische Welt zu, da auf dieser Grundlage weiträumige Analysen der Fibeln innerhalb des Verbreitungsgebietes der späteisenzeitlichen Latènekultur möglich sind.
