Bequest is a super-genius mix of drafting, set collection and I Cut-You Choose mechanics, where players must use all their wits to outsmart their opponents, and come away with most of Dr.'s legacy. Schism!

Each round, each player is dealt a hand of five cards to deal with their neighbor, which is part of Dr. Schism represents. It could be treasure, gadgets, the deeds to hideouts, or even evidence of his misdeeds! You decide how to distribute the 5 cards, but distribute them wisely as your neighbor decides who gets which pile! Will you tempt them with the gadget they collect, hoping they'll take some damning evidence with it? Do you offer them 4 of the 5 cards so they give you the only item you really need?

While you wait for them to decide, you have your own choice to make among the card piles distributed by your other neighbor. It seems clear which pile they want you to choose - should you choose the other? Or maybe that's what the dastardly villain always wanted!

Each Asset type has a unique way to score points as you collect. There are also keys, which in themselves don't give you anything, but allow you to unlock one of Dr.'s powerful special assets. Schism can be drawn up. These include connections to his Lackeys, who can help you with powerful one-off effects, or blueprints for his ingenious schemes, giving you new ways to score! But beware: if you only pay attention to your neighbors, one of the villains on the other side of the table may beat you to the special asset you need!
