Die Installationen Matthew McCaslins, mit denen er seit Anfang der neunziger Jahre international hervorgetreten ist, erinnern an die Werkstatt eines Tüftlers: Stromkabel, Lichtschalter oder Steckdosen sind die Grundmaterialien seiner Arbeiten, die er je nach Bedarf mit audiovisuellen Geräten, Ventilatoren und Uhren vernetzt. Die Arrangements konfrontieren den Betrachter mit vielfältigen Reizen, setzen ihn rasant wechselnden Medienbildern, Lichtquellen und akustischen Signalen aus, lassen von Ventilatoren abgestrahlte Windenergien körperlich spürbar werden. Meist genügt jedoch ein Schalter, um den Energiefluss zu unterbrechen: McCaslins Installationen erscheinen so als plastische Metaphern technischer, ökologischer und humaner Energien. Die Arbeiten des amerikanischen Künstlers sind temporäre Installationen, konkret bezogen auf den jeweiligen Ausstellungsort. This blanket is the perfect thickness, warm but not too warm. I have a bigger than twin but not quit a double and it fits perfect. The design is perfect. In grey it matches my black qnd white design perfectly. Quality materials. Soft cozy and comfortable. Its the perfect cure for winter cold waether. The undeneath is a nice soft velour finish.
