Der Treteimer Mats mit 12 L Fassungsvermögen ist ein Alleskönner für Ihr Badezimmer und Ihre Küche. Dank dem integrierten Silent-Close-System im Deckel schliesst Mats ganz leise und langsam seinen Deckel. Und wenn man den Deckel ohne die Tretfunktion öffnen möchte, besitzt der Treteimer einen Griff am Deckel, mit dem man ihn auch mit der Hand ganz einfach öffnen kann. Dadurch, dass der Deckel in senkrechter Position einrastet, kann man den Inneneimer ganz leicht herausnehmen, ohne dass ständig der Deckel wieder zufällt. Durch den Tragegriff am Inneneimer kann man auch super hygienisch für die Entleerung des Eimers sorgen, ohne in Kontakt mit dem Inhalt treten zu müssen. Dazu kommt, dass der Deckel sehr flach ist, und so sehr platzsparend ist. Man hat mehr Platz für den Inhalt und nach oben hat man genügend Luft um jegliche Dekoration oder Möbelstücke darüber zu stellen. Doch nicht nur mit dem Deckel kann der Treteimer Mats punkten. Auch dank seinem rutschhemmendem Boden ist er sehr überzeugend in Sachen Standfestigkeit im Badezimmer. Zusätzlich hat der Treteimer noch einen Tragegriff unterhalb des Scharniers, welcher es ganz leicht macht, den Eimer zu tragen ohne dass man den Mülleimer umständlich greifen muss.

The Babylonian Empire

This book analyses the achievements and challenges of the Babylonian Empire. It was a significant socio-political entity in Ancient Times. Like Assyria, the Babylonian state retained the written Akkadian language (the language of its native populace) for official use, despite its Northwest Semitic-speaking Amorite founders and Kassite successors, who spoke a language isolate, not being native Mesopotamians. It retained the Sumerian language for religious use (as did Assyria). Still, already by the time, Babylon was founded, this was no longer a spoken language, having been wholly subsumed by Akkadian. The earlier Akkadian and Sumerian traditions played a significant role in Babylonian and Assyrian culture. The region would remain an important cultural center, even under its protracted periods of outside rule. Ganesh of Mari founded the Kassite dynasty. Both Dynasties were significant. Moreover, The Kassites, like the Amorite rulers who had preceded them, were not originally native to Mesopotamia. They had first appeared in the Zagros Mountains of northwestern Iran today. Overall the book is well-written.

A difficult book that must be read
This is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel by William Styron (the author of Sophie’s Choice). It is based on a slave revolt in Virginia in 1831, lead by Nate Turner. Turner’s capture and confession is the basis of this book. The novel is told in a 1st person narrative and is largely the work of Styron’s imagination. While it is brilliantly written Styron does include graphic scenes of highly erotic obsessions with various white women and one of the most vivid homosexual encounters in modern literature. Probably because of these scenes Styron was savaged by many of the leading black artists of the day but the book has endured the criticism and is, in many ways, an American Classic. Slavery is an indelible stain on the fabric of American culture. It will never be washed away. Turner is an aesthetic, a religious fanatic, a brilliant, tormented misanthropic, homicidal nihilist. His band of followers slaughters 52 men, women, and children. In retribution the white slaughter 200 blacks. Turner is captured, interrogated, and executed. Instead of inspiring a region wide uprising, he is brought down by his fellow blacks fighting alongside the plantation owners. It is a difficult book to read but it is a book that really should be read.
