Der Rotwein Sangiovese von dem Weingut Idiom duftet nach roter Johannisbeere mit würzigen Akzenten von Nelke und Tabak, die an fein geschnittenen Prosciutto erinnern. Am Gaumen verbinden sich eine feine granitische Mineralität, Noten von Tomatenblatt und ein Hauch Leder mit herzhaften Gewürzen. Die Textur wirkt seidig, die Struktur bleibt ausgewogen, unterstützt von feinkörnigen Tanninen und einer lebendigen, präzisen Säure. Subtile Holznuancen aus französischer und amerikanischer Eiche geben Tiefe, ohne die Frucht zu überdecken. Der Nachhall ist lang, würzig und elegant.

Rebsorte Sangiovese

Sangiovese stammt aus der Toskana und ist die prägende Traube hinter Chianti und Brunello. Typische Aromen sind rote Johannisbeere, Sauerkirsche, Pflaume, getrocknete Kräuter, Tomatenblatt und ein Hauch Leder. Am Gaumen wirkt Sangiovese mittelkräftig mit lebendiger, oft süß-säuerlicher Spannung, feinkörnigen Tanninen und klarer, tragender Säure. Im Edelstahltank zeigt er präzise Frucht und Würze; kurze bis mittlere Holzreife ergänzt dezente Noten von Vanille, Zedernholz und mehr Tiefe, ohne die Frische zu verdecken. In Stellenbosch verbindet Sangiovese reife rote Frucht mit granitischer Mineralität und sehr guter Balance. Kulinarisch passt er vielseitig zu italienischer Küche, etwa Tomaten-Pasta, Pizza, Bistecca alla Fiorentina, Porchetta, Pilz-Risotto und gereiftem Pecorino.

 

Passt zu

Der Idiom passt hervorragend zu knusprigem Schweinebauch, Porchetta und würzigen Schweinekoteletts. Sehr stimmig sind auch Bistecca alla Fiorentina sowie Tomaten-Pasta wie Amatriciana oder Pomodoro. Pizza Salami oder Funghi, Pilz-Risotto und gegrilltes Gemüse unterstreichen seine würzig-herzhafte Art. Ein Stück gereifter Pecorino rundet das perfekt ab.

Not that great
Huge "The Simpsons" fan. I watched all the episodes and read a lot of the comics and enjoy most. This one however was quite boring. Turns out I'm just not a big fan of Chief Wiggum. I really enjoyed The "Homer" and "Bart" book. But not this one. Maybe if you love Wiggum you'll love it. If you're not too fond of him then I wouldn't buy it.
