Die Motorschutzplatte von AXP Racing, speziell für die KTM 790/890 ADVENTURE/R Modelle, ist aus hochdichtem Polyethylen (HDPE) gefertigt und bietet mit einer Stärke von 8mm optimalen Schutz. Dieses Material wurde gewählt, um maximalen Schutz bei gleichzeitiger Gewichtsreduktion (nur 3,7 Kg) zu gewährleisten. Im Gegensatz zu Aluminium-Schutzplatten absorbiert die HDPE-Platte keine Deformationen und speichert keine Aufprallenergien, was zusätzlich zur Langlebigkeit beiträgt.

Ein weiterer Vorteil dieser Kunststoffplatte ist die erhebliche Geräuschminderung im Vergleich zu Metallplatten, die oft Geräusche wie das Aufschlagen von Steinen verstärken. Die Montage der Schutzplatte erfolgt nicht direkt am Motor, sondern über Aluminiumhalterungen am Heck und vier Befestigungspunkte am vorderen Rahmen, was zusätzlichen Schutz für den Tank bietet und den Kauf von Sturzbügeln überflüssig macht. Ein Anti-Schmutz-Schutz und ein Dekorationskit sind ebenfalls im Lieferumfang enthalten.
