* Mark George Tobey (* 11. Dezember 1890 in Centerville, einer kleinen Stadt im Trempealeau County, Wisconsin, Vereinigte Staaten; † 24. April 1976 in Basel, Schweiz) war ein US-amerikanischer Maler.
Mark Tobey gilt als Wegbereiter des amerikanischen „Abstrakten Expressionismus“. Bekannt sind seine von fernöstlicher Malerei und kalligraphischer Kunst beeinflussten White Writings, Werke in hellen Farben mit abstrakten filigranen, netzwerkartigen Strukturen in Mischtechnik ausgeführt.

* Die Erker-Galerie von Franz Larese (1927–2000) und Jürg Janett (1927–2016) steht für den Aufbruch einer weltoffenen Stadt St.Gallen. Exponenten des Expressionismus und der Klassischen Moderne waren die Basis ihrer Tätigkeit als Galeristen, welche seit 1958 in wegweisenden Ausstellungen zur Nachkriegsmoderne und einer grossartigen Fülle von Editionen und Büchern kulminierte. In der Erker-Galerie wurde in den 1960er und 1970er Jahren europäische Kunstgeschichte geschrieben.
