Kaum eine Kunst prägt unser Leben so sehr wie die Architektur. Dies gilt auch für die Bauten des Architekturbüros gmp · Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner. Mit großer Offenheit für das Bauen in jedem Maßstab und jeder Typologie unter verschiedensten kulturellen wie kontextuellen Bedingungen konnte das traditionsreiche Unternehmen Flughäfen, Fußballstadien und Kulturbauten auf der ganzen Welt realisieren. Seit der Gründung 1965 hat das Büro mehr als 500 Projekte in 23 Ländern fertiggestellt und wurde für seine Bauten mit zahlreichen Preisen geehrt. Das umfangreiche Œuvre findet sich in zahlreichen Publikationen wieder, so auch in diesem reich bebilderten 13. Band der bekannten Monografie-Reihe. Er präsentiert 50 Bauten und Projekte von 2011 bis 2015. Die Bandbreite reicht vom Sitz der Vietnamesischen Nationalversammlung über das Performing Arts Center in Tianjin, das Ensemble Bund SOHO in Shanghai, die Crystal Hall in Baku, die zur Fußball-Weltmeisterschaft 2014 in Brasilien errichteten oder umgebauten Stadien, das Neue Hans-Sachs-Haus in Gelsenkirchen bis hin zum Flugsteig A-West am Flughafen Frankfurt.gmp · Architekten von Gerkan, Marg und Partner wurde 1965 von MEINHARD VON GERKAN (1935-2022) und VOLKWIN MARG (*1936) gegründet. Gleich mit ihrem ersten Bau, dem Berliner Flughafen Tegel, sorgten sie international für Aufsehen. gmp zählt bis heute weltweit zu den führenden Architekturbüros.

I recently acquired the 4 Panel Room Divider from the Furnnylane Store, opting for the Japanese mountainside print over the floral theme. Priced at $149.99, this piece not only promised functionality but also an aesthetic charm that piqued my interest.
Upon arrival, the first thing I noticed was its impressive dimensions (63"W x 67"H), offering ample coverage for most standard spaces. Despite its substantial size, the divider is surprisingly lightweight, making it a breeze to move and adjust as needed throughout my home.
The double-faced design is a standout feature, providing 100% blackout on both sides, which is ideal for privacy or blocking out unwanted light. This aspect was particularly appealing to me as I was looking for a solution to minimize nighttime light intrusion. The divider excels in this regard, effectively blocking and diffusing light to create a more comfortable sleeping environment.

Nice room divider

I am pleased with this room divider. I was concerned that the art design might look blurry or cheap in person compared to online, but it doesn't. It looks really nice. In fact, I like it so much that I bought a second one as well. It arrived folded up - there is no assembly required - you simply unfold it and place it where you want. It's relatively light weight so it's easy to move. I also like that there is a different artwork design on each side. You have two choices; you can display whichever side you like more.

May cause respiratory issues

The painting on this panel is beautiful and quality has held up BUT I’m almost certain this contributed to respiratory issues. It was next to my bed for a year and I recently noticed it’s still shedding red/brown dust. The wood was clearly painted over and it makes me skeptical about the wood that was used. The panel itself feels like it’s made cardboard. If you’re sensitive or plan to place this panel in a main living area, I would not recommend
