Dank des Adapters können die vorhandenen Makita Li-Ion Akkus der angegeben Volt-Klasse dazu verwendet werden Mobilgeräte auch unterwegs mit neuer Power zu versorgen. Wie oft man ein Gerät aufladen kann hängt von der Größe des aufgesteckten Akkus bzw. der Kapazität des Adapters. Die Gummiabdeckung schützt den USB-Anschluss vor Umwelteinflüssen.
