Die artenreiche Fynbos-Vegetation erstreckt sich entlang der Küste zwischen den Städten Clanwilliam und Port Elizabeth. Diese sogenannte Kap-Flora-Region ist ein eigenes Florenreich. Es ist das kleinste und artenreichste Florenreich auf der ganzen Welt. Im Jahr 2004 wurde es zum UNESCO-Welterbe erklärt.

Viele der Fynbos-Pflanzen sind endemisch in der Kapregion, das heisst sie wachsen nirgendwo sonst auf der Welt. Der Begriff Fynbos kommt aus dem Niederländischen "fijnbosch". Es bedeutet "fein verzweigter Busch" und ist typisch für diese Vegetation.

Der Duft und Geschmack des Fynbos sind einzigartig. Typisch für Fynbos-Kräuter ist die sonnige und blumige Note sowie ein intensiv kräuterartiger Geschmack auf der Zunge. Die wahrscheinlich bekannteste der Fynbos-Pflanzen, ist der Rooibos.

Im Design lassen sich einige der bekannteren Fynbos-Pflanzen finden. Die Farben zelebrieren ihre sonnige Frische.

Die Botanik Serie:

Die Botanik-Serie ist eine Kollektion, bei der frische und kräftige Farben bewusst gewählt wurden, um den strahlenden Effekt der Bio-Seide zu betonen. Die Serie umfasst drei Dessins: Fynbos, Kelp Forest und African Olive. Die Dessins wurden von der Vielfalt der südafrikanischen Biosphäre inspiriert.

Um die Inhalte der Botanik-Serie authentisch darzustellen, haben wir mit der südafrikanischen Illustratorin Amor Coetzee zusammengearbeitet.
