SILAC RPMI ist ein spezialisiertes Medium für Markierungsexperimente mit stabilen Aminosäureisotopen (SILAC). Diese Methode ermöglicht eine effektive Analyse des Proteoms durch Massenspektrometrie, insbesondere zur Untersuchung von Proteinexpression, -quantifizierung und -stabilität. Dabei werden leichte Aminosäuren im Medium durch schwere Aminosäuren ersetzt, die von den Zellen aufgenommen werden, was eine Differenzierung der Proteine ermöglicht. SILAC bietet Vorteile in der quantitativen und funktionellen Proteomik, ohne die Zellmorphologie oder Wachstumsraten zu beeinträchtigen. Anwendungen umfassen quantitative Proteomik, Geweberegeneration und posttranslationalen Modifikationen.
