"Gerontampelo" bedeutet im lokalen Dialekt von Santorin die sehr alten Reben. Diese "Gerontampelos" stammen von präphylloxerischen "Koulouras", die über 150 Jahre alt sind. Diese "Veteranen" liefern extrem kleine Erträge und sind bekannt für ihre unschlagbare Eleganz und ihren ausgewogenen Reichtum. Mit dieser Abfüllung zelebriert das Weingut Argyros sowohl seinen Standort als auch seine Reben in einem Zeitalter der Weisheit.

Aromen von Zitrusfrüchten wie Zitrone, Pampelmuse und Orangenschale, gefolgt von Noten von Pfirsich und Birne und den charakteristischen Noten von Salz, Jod und nassem Stein. Am Gaumen ist er sehr komplex und ausgewogen mit intensiver Mineralität und einem langen Abgang. Der Alkoholgehalt von 15% in Verbindung mit der kräftigen Säure und der kraftvollen Struktur verleihen diesem Wein ein großes Alterungspotenzial von mindestens 15 Jahren. Hervorragend und limitiert.
