Josiah McElheny (*1966 in Boston) ist für seine skulpturalen Arbeiten bekannt, in denen er das traditionelle Handwerk der Glasbläserkunst mit dem futuristischen Design der Moderne verbindet. Mit der Verwendung von Glas beruft sich der Künstler auf eines der ältesten Medien der Menschheitsgeschichte zur Objektherstellung, um darin aktuelle Fragen nach Raum und Zeit aufzuwerfen. Ausgehend vom Design einfacher Dinge und Gebrauchsgegenstände des Alltags, etwa Glaswaren oder Kerzen, entwickelt er abstrakte Skulpturen und komplexe Installationen. Die Publikation stellt seine wichtigsten Arbeiten aus den vergangenen 15 Jahren vor und widmet sich insbesondere dem Begriff der Unendlichkeit, der für McElheny mit einem Nachdenken über gesellschaftliche Utopien verknüpft ist. Sein Werk bezieht sowohl die Ideen des Theoretikers Richard Buckminster Fuller mit ein als auch die Sinnlichkeit etwa eines Isamu Noguchi und wissenschaftlich adäquate Visualisierungen des Urknalls.Ausstellung: Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston 22.6.–14.10.2012

Dixie Is Good But
Size: 150 Count (Pack of 1)
Dixie paper plates are good but these are better! The durability of them is just as good as Dixie. The leak-proofness is just as good as Dixie. The 10 inch size makes them versatile for everyday use. The main reason why they are better than Dixie is because they’re a lot cheaper and you get double the amount for less $$

Great quality. Don’t think it twice and buy!

When I bought this plates I was not so sure of the quality of the material however, they exceeded my expectations. They are thick and durable. The design and color were perfect and matched with my decoration. The amount of plates for the value was a great deal and I will definitely buy them again and again. Trust me when I say I don’t like most of the disposable paper plates out there and this make a huge difference with how good quality they are and how inexpensive they’re.

Strong Enough for Everyday Use, No Surprises

These are exactly what you want from everyday disposable plates.
They’re sturdy enough to handle normal meals without bending or soaking through, even with heavier or messier foods. I’ve used them for things like pasta and leftovers, and they held up better than expected for a budget option.
The 10-inch size is a good middle ground, big enough for full meals but not oversized. They also hold up fine in the microwave without getting too soft.
They’re still paper plates at the end of the day, so if you’re loading them up with really heavy or greasy food, you might want to double up just to be safe.
