Die Tonröhren dienen als Schutz- und Rückzugsmöglichkeit für Fächergarnelen & Krebse. 
 Die offene Tonröhre ist ca. 6cm lang und hat eine Eingangsöffnung von ca. 1,5 cm. Die Höhlen sind auch ideal für Bepflanzungen von Moos.
 Da die Oberfläche recht porös ist, wächst das Moos sehr schnell und leicht an.
