La fourmi Messor structor est une espèce polygyne.

Une colonie peut accueillir plusieurs reines qui vont cohabiter. Cet aspect est très intéressant et permet de voir de nouveaux comportements dans la colonie.

Néanmoins des colonies avec une seule reine sont également possible et tout à fait viable sur le long terme. 

Nous vous proposons des colonies de différentes tailles avec une ou plusieurs reines par colonie. 

Les ouvrières de cette espèce sont fortement polymorphes, c’est à dire que la taille des ouvrières varie beaucoup en fonction de leur rôle dans la colonie. On y trouve donc des ouvrières minuscules appelées ouvrières minors ou encore des soldats avec des grandes mandibules appelés majors. 

Cette espèce est majoritairement granivore, cependant un apport en protéines via divers insectes est recommandé pour un développement plus rapide de la colonie et pour éviter les carences. 

Elevage de vos fourmis Messor structor

Vous pouvez chauffer votre colonie à 24-27 degrés. Pour un développement optimal. 

Une température de 20 à 22 degrés peut également leur convenir.

Bare wire can be intolerable to work with. Banana plugs make a positive secure connection. These plugs are a touch bulky. Nice to not have to deal with small screws. Use as large of gauge wire as possible. The description says no unintentional disconnections. I beg to differ the bite of teeth aren’t as good as described. Used a 16 gauge pure copper speaker wire and a teenager taught me how secure the wire really is by tugging on the wire not the banana plug pulling the wire free. It does the job, it’s not the latest and greatest. If you need easy get these. If you want slim secure banana plugs buy the small screw type.

Perfect for guitar wire harnesses.

This is the first time I’ve used this type of wire for building and repairing electric guitars. These 22 AWG stranded silicone insulated wires are perfect for connecting control pots and switches. They are soft, flexible, and the insulation does not burn or melt back when soldering. The wire itself is tinned pure copper and solders with ease. I use a silver bearing solder which requires more heat than standard lead/tin solder. The silicon insulation handles the heat just fine without burning or distorting it. The wire is strong and durable, yet it strips back easily with a standard stripping tool. They are true to the advertised thickness of 22 gauge. I have used both traditional cloth insulated (pull back), and PVC insulated guitar hookup wire in the past. I will be using this silicon wire from now on. It is easy to work with and produces a very clean professional looking result.
