The design process was characteristically obsessive and often dysfunctional, so we’ll spare you most of it. Lots of bright people in the industry left their mark in one way or another. Special shout outs to Jack Deville, Bryan Sours and John Snyder. Lessee...after dutifully slogging through the modern bucket brigade scene for a while, we found our paradise in the form of the ubiquitous PT2399. Turns out, when you treat it well, you can get a massive and great sounding delay range out of it. We utilized a combination of gooey compander chip, analog filtering, and extremely careful gain staging (amp designers are decent at that). We hope you love it.
THE MENU
To access LFO waveform and tap division menu, hold down BYPASS for two seconds, then tap TAP/ HOLD once. BYPASS switch toggles between SINE, SQUARE and RANDOM waveforms, which will blink 1, 2 or 3 times respectively. TAP/HOLD switch toggles through QUARTER, DOTTED EIGHTH, and EIGHTH note tap divisions, and the LED will blink 1, 2 or 3 times (respectively). Hold down BYPASS for two seconds to exit MENU.
SOUND
With our history in tape and bucket brigade echo servicing, we were obviously going to go with the floaty and colorful repeats with a chaotic yet musical degradation. That’s the heart of the thing, the whole point.
RANGE
The Benson Delay goes fast enough to do chorus and vibrato and slap, and slow enough to create blurred and haunted soundscapes, with a whole range of warbly musical sounds in between. 30ms - 1250ms!
ALIENS
Hold down the tap knob to boost feedback for some self oscillation! Perfect for holding notes out, and especially for making alien invasion noises in tandem with the time knob (within a toe’s reach). Works when the feedback knob is up a bit. Does not introduce unwanted clicking sounds into the signal path. Adjustable via internal trim pot.
WARBLE
The Low Frequency Oscillator has a tremendous range of both speed and depth, as well as sine, square and random waveforms. Does warble, seasick, flutter, all the good sounds.
TAP
The Benson Delay has the most accurate tap tempo ever applied to the PT2399 thanks to Bontempo, an open source technology concocted by Antoine Ricoux at Electric Canary, which was then refined and implemented by film colorist Octave Zangs (two geniuses). Each pedal CALIBRATES ITSELF IT’S SO COOL.
SMOOTH
We wanted to avoid the more modern issues of delay design; like the digital jaggedness that can come from adjusting the time control on a digitally clocked device, whether analog or a fully digital simula- tion (ever notice that?). In other words, let’s not assume the aforementioned aliens have glitchy space- ships.
Center Negative 9VDC power supply, 100ma current draw. 2 years warranty excluding modification or damage.

My all time fave sunscreen!

This is the best sunscreen! Does NOT burn my eyes like 95% of other sunscreens do. Does NOT break out my sensitive skin, or my sister who has the most sensitive skin ever! It goes on smoothly due to its nice texture, does NOT feel greasy. Wears great under foundation as well. Thank you Coola for such a great formula at an affordable price. I have turned so many 'sunscreen snobs' into fan favorites of this as well. If you haven't tried it, you should!

good for non-white skin

Moisturizing, non-sticky, works for my sensitive skin. It's transparent and doesn't leave a white cast on my light brown skin. Smallish size is good for travel and purse. It's a little shiny; wish it came in matte.

Very effective

I love this sunscreen for your face. It doesn’t feel oily. It doesn’t stay white on your skin. It absorbs and it really protects it nicely. I put it on every morning before I walk my dog in the sun and I’m out for normally at least an hour so it’s a really nice sunscreen and I would definitely give it a try.

Lightweight, clean, and effective — worth the repurchase

This is my go-to daily sunscreen. It’s lightweight, non-greasy, and absorbs quickly without leaving a white cast. I love that it’s made with clean ingredients and doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin. The white tea scent is subtle and fresh. I’ve repurchased this several times now — it’s one of the few sunscreens I actually enjoy using.

Great replacement for my discontinued Epionce sunblock
Scent: White Tea, Size: 1.7 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)
I really hate it when companies discontinue great products, and even though it cost a fortune, I loved the Epionce mineral sun block for faces. When I realized it was gone, I looked at the Coola line because I like their other products. Found this face sunblock for $32 (this could be 1/3 of the Epionce, certainly 1/2) and have used it for the past few weeks playing golf. So far, so good! I'm not noticing any color, certainly no burn. No irritation, and the scent is quite mild, only noticeable when it's first applied (IMO, and I'm pretty sensitive to scents). I really like that Coola has the Hawaii reef-safe designation, which I think is very important for all sunscreens, even when we're not going swimming in the ocean. As a friend pointed out to me once, even if you don't swim in the ocean, you go home and take a shower and all those chemicals wash down the drain and make their way eventually through the system, so might as well just not use them in the first place! Yes, it's more expensive using products like this, but IMO it's worth it. I also wear sun sleeves these days so I don't have to use as much sunscreen when I'm out on the golf course. Editing this to say that this product has avobenzone, which is actually not so great and may be banned in Hawaii by next year. Hmm. Guess I'll keep searching!
