BOUT #1: PAUL PERRIS VS. JASON XTREME:Perris: 5`10",175#, 21. Xtreme: 5`5",150#, 22.
Paul, looking delicious as always, appears in a blue/white striped thong plus black wrestling boots. Jason is attired in yellow trunks and white wrestling boots. Jason takes charge immediately and simply trashes Paul for several minutes in the opening fall. Paul gets angry and lets Jason know it. A big boot to Jason`s chest sends the small grappler flying. It`s Jason`s turn now to get thrown around the ring with a very aggressive Paul Perris taking charge of this activity. Jason takes all Paul has to give and still manages a comeback. Jason Xtreme reduces Perris to rubble. Jason`s signature hold ends Perris`s continuing torture: the figure-four leglock. Paul Perris - with so much promise crushed by his own balls. He`s been done in by the wrestling villain`s major motto: "When all else fails, go for the balls".
BOUT #2: DOUG BRANDON VS. STEVE ARNOLD:
Brandon: 6`, 190#, 19. Arnold: 5`8", 210#, 22.
Doug Brandon is good at pro-wrestling moves and holds and he gives off a certain aura of excitement which permeates his performance. Steve specializes in lifts and throws. Doug Brandon finds out, and often, what it`s like to be lifted up high and thrown to the mat. Steve introduces a particularly devilish hold - his thigh "sleeper" scissors. He wraps it around Doug`s neck and squeezes. Doug appears to be going "out", but he`s feigning. Steve releases the hold prematurely and reaches for Doug. Doug comes to life and cuts Arnold down. Arnold is thoroughly trashed from this point on. He`s an easy victim for Doug Brandon`s leg full nelson.
BOUT #3: ED HARTE VS. SANDY FORD:
Harte: 5`9", 220#, 28. Ford: 6`, 200#, 24.
Ed Harte`s back in the ring for your viewing pleasure. Ed isn`t the most graceful of pro wrestlers and his knowledge is somewhat limited, but that hasn`t seemed to matter to Ed Harte fans. It`s in the "watching," isn`t it? This time he`s up against a smooth, muscular, blond/blue-eye in Sandy Ford. Sandy is in WAY over his head and is the subject of virtually a total squash job from start to finish. It`s a bearhug that finishes Sandy off in the first fall. Totally humiliate the young and eager but hapless Ford, Ed Harte saves the best to last - a "sleeper".
BOUT #4: JIMMY DEAN VS. DIRK SHANNON:
Dean: 5`10",160#, 19. Shannon: 5`11, 182#, 25.
This is a killer pro match. Both grapplers do what it takes to win. Both will resort to any and all roughhouse tactics to win. Both wear thongs and boots. Dirk in white, Dean in black. Dean comes out of his corner, tries to lay some forearm smashes on Dirk`s chest. Dirk laughs them off, and knocks Dean off his feet with one punch. Dean reverses with a face butt. Shannon reverses him with a bodylift and back breaker. And so it goes. One surprise reversal after another. Just as you think one wrestler will best the other, it`s reversal time. And many of these reversals are none too gentle.
BOUT #5: JOHNNY LIGHTNING VS. JEFF STEEL:
Lightning: 5`10",190#, 22. Steel: 5`10", 203#, 22.
Lightning appears in orange trunks and black boots. Steel is garbed in red trunks and white boots with white kneepads. This is a very interesting matchup as both grapplers know how to and often employ the deadly sleeper hold to secure victories. A flying drop kick, head butt, clothesline and a serious body scissors have Jeff Steel reeling. But a well placed elbow to Johnny`s side and a gut punch reversal brings Jeff Steel back into control. He maneuvers Lightning dangerously close to another sleep position, but Johnny manages to throw him and reverse his perilous situation. It is a "Lightning" strike that settles the second fall. Lightning is thrown into a corner. Jeff rushes towards Lightning hoping for a crushing bodysmash, but Lightning moves out of the way at the last minute. Steel goes barreling into an empty corner. Lightning quickly comes up behind him, wraps his hands around his neck and lifts him up over his back in a hangman hold. It doesn`t take Steel long to submit when he doesn`t feel the mat beneath his feet.

A familiar story, just with…..less.

So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters.
That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception.
SPOILER:
The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured.
I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series

I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read

Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.

Slightly repetitive but I did love some things

I love this type of story. And omegaverse is one of my all time favorite genres. But there are a few things that pulled me out of my enjoyment while I was reading. It was repetitive at times as well as struggled with telling not showing. So we didn’t always feel like we were experiencing things with the main character. There were also some plot holes but they may still be answered in part 2.
Now this isn’t to be said I didn’t enjoy parts of the story. I loved the almost instant love between Mila and Oliver. And how he started changing around her.

delightful read

What a delightful read. The characters are awesome, the plot was so good, I loved it. I was intrigued and it kept me wanting more. Told in multiple pov, the book sucks you in and doesn’t let go. I cannot wait to read the next book.
