Ansellia africana

Ansellia africana is a magnificent orchid species native to tropical and southern Africa and is the sole species in the genus Ansellia. Commonly known as the African Leopard Orchid, it is famous for its large, branching flower spikes covered with dozens to hundreds of uniquely spotted blooms resembling a leopard's coat.

This vigorous species develops impressive clumps of tall pseudobulbs and, with age, can become an enormous specimen plant. Mature plants are capable of producing spectacular floral displays that can last for weeks, making them a prized addition to any orchid collection.
