The Heriz carpet designs have remained the same, with only small variations in color pallets and density of the design. The late 19th Century Rug (called Serapis) was of fewer details and softer colors and with time designs became denser with added jewel tone color pallets. Even though Sarouk carpets changed style later on, Heriz weavers stayed with the geometric pattern till now. However, Heriz was also a center of production of some of the best handmade carpets with both geometric and curvilinear floral patterns. A special heirloom wash produces the subtle color variations that give rugs their distinctive antique look.

This is a genuine hand knotted cut pile rug, not tufted, hooked, or machine made. All we do is hand knotted.

Please Note: Due to packaging, the texture of the rug will be pressed. This is not a defect and should be unnoticeable after several days.

I have had South African Billtong before and I loved it, so I thought I would try SA Droewars and see if they were as satisfying. The answer is yes! They are delicious and nothing like your typical mass marketed jerky snacks sold in the US. Droewars are lightly seasoned beef jerky sticks and, although I have not seen the numbers, they seem to be only lightly salted (important for me). The meat is not chewy or grisly, so the beef cuts they use must be prime. This is the first time I have tried the Ayoba-Yo brand and I am happy with my purchase. I am awaiting delivery of several varieties of Billtong from Ayoba-Yo presently and I will report back. Not inexpensive, but the value is there for sure. Jimmy
