The regiment survived the immediate post-war reduction in forces, but was amalgamated with the 12th Royal Lancers to form the 9th/12th Royal Lancers in 1960. The jacket features King Crown 9th Lancer's buttons by maker Firmin "London". Overall condition is very good. Some general wear with age. All buttons present. Jacket is missing collar insignia, and the right arm rank patch has been removed.

9th Queen’s Royal Lancers (1715-1960)
The 9th Queen’s Royal Lancers, or the Delhi Spearmen, were a cavalry regiment of the British Army. They are best known for their roles in the Indian mutiny of 1857, numerous Boer War battles and for their part in the North African campaign of World War II including the retreat to and the battle of El Alamein in 1942.
WW1 - The regiment landed in France as part of the 2nd Cavalry Brigade in the 1st Cavalry Division in August 1914 for service on the Western Front. Captain Francis Grenfell was awarded the Victoria Cross for his actions in saving the guns of 119th Battery, Royal Field Artillery on 24 August 1914 (he was later killed in action on 24 May 1915, as was his twin brother, Riversdale, a yeomanry officer who attached to 9th Lancers). The regiment then participated in the final "lance on lance" action involving British cavalry of the First World War; on 7 September 1914 at Montcel à Frétoy in which Lieutenant Colonel David Campbell led a charge of two troops of B Squadron and overthrew a squadron of the Prussian Dragoons of the Guard.

Very sturdy

When we go camping, we use these Dixie plates a lot. They’re very sturdy and the cleanup is easy Peezy. The design is bright and cheerful are easy to use. It’s the great size for dinner plates and they also have smaller size plates as well as bowls. They’re very durable and we’ll hold up on heavy foods. We always keep a good supply on hand because when you’re on vacation, you don’t want to wash the dishes. They are great you’re using them and you throw them away or you can burn them.
