Product application advice
Almond: Young trees (1-3 years) benefit from nitrate applications as YaraLiva Tropicote because nitrate nitrogen is readily available as well as soluble calcium for cell wall and membrane formation and soil health. Apply 15-60 lb N/Acre depending on tree age and vigor, at least 1/3 of which should be applied as YaraLiva Tropicote in the early application. Mature trees need 70 lbs of N/Acre for each 1,000 lbs of nut yield goal. Applications should be split throughout the growing season and adjusted to reflect changes in yield goal. Early applications of YaraLiva Tropicote help assure N absorption in cool weather and good nut set. Consult your agronomist for further details.
Apple: At establishment and for young, non-bearing trees apply .1-.25 pounds N/tree. Utilizing YaraLiva products such as Tropicote(dependent upon application preferences and cultural practices) will supply nitrate N for rapid uptake and vegetative growth. Soluble Ca is also provided which ensures proper cell division and growth during tree establishment. For established orchards, apply 55-70 pounds N/tree is split applications at post harvest and again in spring at flowering. The rate is dependent upon several factors such as soil and tissue analysis as well as variety, tree population and pruning. Beans: 130-775# YaraLiva® Tropicote®/acre applied in split applications according to soil test as part of your nitrogen management plan; 130# pre-plant, followed by applications 20 days after emergence and prior to flowering. Cease applications of nitrogen prior to pod fill in order to preserve seed quality.
