Thorens: New Reference Collection (Double LP) at Vinyl Sound
The Ultimate Audiophile Test Pressing.
Celebrate the pinnacle of analog engineering with the Thorens New Reference Collection Double LP. Available at Vinyl Sound in Toronto, Canada, this exclusive compilation was curated by Thorens to perfectly showcase the capabilities of their most ambitious flagship project to date: the Thorens New Reference turntable.
60 Years of High-Fidelity Music
Spanning an impressive 60 years of music history—from the dawn of the stereo era in 1960 to breathtaking modern acoustic productions—this album is a hand-picked journey through soul, jazz, and pop. It combines beloved analog classics with demanding modern listening test highlights, featuring exceptionally rare-on-vinyl tracks like Inger Marie Gundersen's "Let It Be Me."
Uncompromising Pressing Quality
To ensure this album serves as a true reference tool for evaluating high-end speakers, amplifiers, and cartridges, Thorens partnered with the audiophile experts at in-akustik. The album is cut using Direct Metal Mastering (DMM) and plays at 45 RPM, drastically reducing surface noise and pre-echo while maximizing dynamic range and spatial imaging. Pressed on heavyweight 180-gram Virgin Vinyl, this 2LP set delivers a dead-quiet noise floor and crystalline high-frequency response.
