How CORID works


Structurally, CORID mimics thiamin (Vitamin B1) which is required by coccidia for normal growth and reproduction. When coccidia ingest CORID, they experience thiamin deficiency and starve from malnutrition. 

When CORID works


CORID stops coccidia at a critical stage in the host animal's small intestine to prevent more damaging coccidiosis in the large intestine. By acting on the young asexual stages of the coccidia life cycle, CORID allows exposure to first-generation schizonts, so the host animal can develop natural immunity to coccidia. This makes CORID effective as a preventive therapy.

How CORID pays


PREVENT THE DISEASE - Use a 21-day prevention program.

    • Administer CORID when experience tells you conditions are favorable for the development of coccidiosis or any time cattle are exposed to unusual stress
    • CORID effectively breaks the coccidia life cycle before a clinical coccidiosis outbreak can occur
    • Preventing coccidiosis allows animals to absorb nutrients naturally, so they maintain the ability to fight stress
  • CORID helps to reduce the spread of infective coccidia oocysts
TREAT THE OUTBREAK - Use a five-day treatment program.
    • Administer CORID at the first clinical sign of coccidiosis, such as diarrhea and dehydration
    • CORID stops the development of merozoites before they further damage the large intestine
    • CORID helps to reduce oocyst discharge in the feces, to reduce disease spread
    • Drinking water or drench administration ensures CORID will reach the intestine, even in animals with reduced feed intake and low gastrointestinal motility
  • CORID treats clinical coccidiosis

    • Unique flexibility. CORID is labeled to both help prevent and treat bovine coccidiosis (bloody scours) caused by Eimeria bovis and E. zurnii in calves.
    • Administration flexibility. CORID can be administered in drinking water, as a drench, or in-feed to prevent or treat bovine coccidiosis
    • CORID should be used on a group, pen or herd basis. When one or more calves show clinical signs of coccidiosis, it's likely the rest of the group has been exposed to coccidia and all calves in the group, pen or herd should receive CORID.
    • Palatable. CORID is palatable and readily accepted by cattle.
  • Safety. CORID is safe when administered at the recommended dose.

Important Safety Information: Withdraw 24 hours before slaughter. Do not use in calves to be processed for veal.

Fun tug toy that holds up well

We got this rope tug toy for our dog and it’s been a hit. He loves playing tug of war and will happily drag this around the house looking for someone to play with. Our dog isn’t a hardcore destroyer, but he definitely tests his toys, and this one is still in one piece. It’s also a nice size, not tiny, so it works well for medium and bigger dogs, but a smaller dog could still enjoy it. Overall, it’s a simple toy that does what you want it to do. Keeps the dog busy, gives them something safe to chew on, and holds up better than most rope toys we’ve tried.

Updated title: Not for a power chewer

Update: I had to cut the ball off the same day I wrote this review. Two days later, the yellow rope was totally unraveled and I had to throw it away. She got maybe 3 days of play with this toy. Do not buy this toy if you have a larger dog that chews a lot. I will say our dog loved this toy the moment she started playing with it. But the toy doesn't last long with our superchewer. I was hoping to use it for some games of tug, and while we're at it get her teeth cleaned by the spikey red ball. The listing includes "large" dogs. My large dog (11 m/o Bernese puppy) had this toy broken within the first 10 minutes. The red pieces are a pretty lightweight plastic that she just broke apart completely, specifically the bone on the "handle". The ball is lasting a little longer, but she put a hole in it. We will probably need to cut the ball off as well because she'll chew it up and swallow it if we're not careful, and then she'll need (another) surgery. The positive is that she loves chewing on rope and the rope pieces seem pretty sturdy. We still play tug with the ropes, but this one I will probably just give to her as a chew toy. We found a more durable ball on a rope toy at Target for a little bit less.
