3M Medipore Dress-It Pre-Cut Dressing Cover — Soft Cloth, Hypoallergenic, 5 Sizes

Highly adhesive where it matters. Gentle where it counts. 3M Medipore Dress-It Pre-Cut Dressing Covers are breathable, hypoallergenic soft cloth covers made from non-woven polyester — designed to secure primary dressings, anchor post-surgical dressings, and retain gauze in place without the skin trauma that standard medical tapes cause on fragile, sensitive, or repeatedly-taped skin. The cross and diagonal stretch built into the cloth conforms to body contours and accommodates moderate swelling, edema, and movement without lifting or losing adhesion. No paper liner, no curling, no self-adhesion — easy to handle with or without gloves and easy to tear from the pad. Available in five pre-cut sizes from 3-7/8 x 4-5/8 inch through 7-7/8 x 11 inch.

✔ Soft Non-Woven Polyester — Breathable & Gentle on Skin    ✔ Excellent Cross & Diagonal Stretch — Conforms & Accommodates Swelling    ✔ Highly Adhesive — No Curling, No Self-Adhesion    ✔ No Paper Liner — More Economical, Less Waste    ✔ Latex-Free & Hypoallergenic    ✔ 5 Pre-Cut Sizes

Indicated For — Uses & Applications

  • Securing primary dressings to fragile or sensitive skin where standard tape would cause trauma
  • Anchoring post-surgical dressings — stable hold over the full post-operative period
  • Retention sheeting over gauze — replaces tape strips for full-coverage gauze securement
  • Securing dressings over areas where skin may stretch — edema, distention, hematoma sites, or high-movement areas
  • Securing ostomy pouches to fragile periostomal skin
  • Repeated taping applications where adhesive trauma from standard tape is a concern
  • Patients with fragile, thin, or sensitive skin — elderly patients, patients on steroids, radiation-damaged skin
  • Any application where a breathable, conformable, high-adhesion cloth cover is needed in place of standard medical tape

How Medipore Dress-It Works — What Makes It Different From Standard Tape

Standard medical tapes apply adhesive in a strip format — coverage is limited to the tape width, edges can lift on irregular surfaces, and repeated application on fragile skin causes maceration and stripping. Medipore Dress-It takes a different approach: a full pre-cut pad of breathable soft cloth with adhesive across the entire backing, designed to cover and secure the complete dressing in one step rather than framing it with individual tape strips.

  • Full-pad adhesive coverage — the entire backing is adhesive, distributing hold across the full dressing surface rather than concentrating stress at tape edges
  • Cross and diagonal stretch — the non-woven polyester stretches in multiple directions, accommodating swelling, edema, and body movement without the cover lifting or creating pressure points at the dressing edges
  • Breathable and porous — allows moisture vapor and air exchange through the cover, reducing maceration risk under the dressing and maintaining skin integrity over extended wear
  • Water resistant — resists moisture penetration from external sources while remaining breathable from beneath
  • No paper liner — faster to apply, less waste, and no liner disposal; pads tear off easily from the pad stack without self-adhesion or curling
  • Easy with gloves — cloth backing handles cleanly with gloved hands without bunching, sticking, or misaligning during placement

Choosing the Right Size

  • 2954 (3-7/8 x 4-5/8") — Smallest size. Best for compact primary dressings, pediatric applications, or smaller wound sites where the larger pads would overhang unnecessarily.
  • 2955 (3-7/8 x 7-7/8") — Narrow and elongated. Ideal for limb dressings, shin wounds, forearm and lower leg post-surgical sites, or any wound with a longer footprint than it is wide.
  • 2956 (5-7/8 x 5-7/8") — The standard general-purpose size. Covers most common wound dressings and gauze pads — the most versatile option for a general supply.
  • 2957 (5-7/8 x 11") — Large coverage. Well suited to abdominal surgical sites, large wound dressings, or any site requiring extended coverage in one direction.
  • 2958 (7-7/8 x 11") — Maximum coverage. For very large wounds, full abdominal post-surgical dressings, torso applications, or bariatric patients where maximum coverage area is needed.

Application Instructions

  1. Apply primary dressing or gauze to the wound as directed
  2. Tear off one Medipore Dress-It pad from the stack
  3. Center the pad over the primary dressing — ensure adequate overlap on all sides to secure edges
  4. Press down from center outward to adhere, smoothing gently to conform to body contours
  5. For areas with swelling or movement, allow the cloth to stretch naturally rather than pulling the skin taut
  6. Change as directed by a healthcare professional or when the primary dressing requires changing

Beautifully written book! This book is the way leading to utmost and absolute Happiness!
Imam Abu Hamid Al-Ghazali (God be pleased with him) has composed a magnificient book which is, in my point of view, one of the outmost and greatest spiritual book that ever existed in the chronicles of time! The real way for the mankind to attain ultimate happiness is to read, understand and apply what this book is revealing! Verily, as Imam Al-Guazali declares, the ultimate happiness is to know God Almighty in order to truly love him and He who truly loves God, God loves Him too!

A must read for all believers!
Practical advice on developing the higher self to command the lower self to achieve internal happiness that is not dependent on worldly outcomes. If you are an atheist then you might only benefit from the first couple chapters, some of the later chapters are more theoretical supported by logic based on holy scriptures like the Quran, Hadith, or Psalms. This is a must-read for all believers, especially Muslims! Many blessings to Al-Ghazzali, this book is one of my all-time favorites!

Imam Gazali, also known as Hujjatul Islam, is a great scholar if Islam who consolidated the tenets of the religion against corruption. The Alchemy of Happiness is a must read for anyone who wishes to take the journey for self explotation, to better understand the self; and by doing so, establish a solid relationship with Allah, the lord of the heavens and the earth and everything in between. The true happiness will only come through such a relationship.

A letter of Gratitude to Irv Yalom for Creatures of a Day.
Format: Hardcover
Dear Irv Yalom, This letter is a declaration of gratitude for your newly published book, Creatures of a Day, and the artful legacy you’ve bestowed upon the field of psychotherapy. In the era of fast technology and mass production, your attention to relationship and the handcrafted nature of therapy is a life line. In all of your 50 years as a psychotherapist, you didn’t sell out for clinical blueprints and formulaic approaches. Instead, you opted to stay true to what you knew--the here and now, the importance of the therapeutic relationship, and your own internal thoughts and experiences as essential elements for your work with clients. Creatures of a Day waves a flag and asks us to take notice. It invites us back into the mystery of our work and reminds us to celebrate our humanness. Your masterful story telling allows us to see you and your clients in action, mistakes and vulnerabilities included, and shares pivotal moments that will provoke thoughtful learning for generations of therapists. So thank you for this. You show us your mistakes You see, your books (especially Love’s Executioner and Creatures of a Day) let us into your thoughts and experiences. We get to hear you talk to yourself and occasionally grapple with doubt. We get to know your own vulnerabilities and how they influence your therapeutic relationships. This is such a rare view. And I am hungry for it. There are too few books, too few videos, and fewer workshops or trainings that offer this kind of perspective for therapists. We don’t get to see masters make mistakes. We don’t get to hear supervisors or consultants narrate their doubts. So, I consider your book an invitation to write about my own similar encounters in my work. And to continue to make this kind of conversation central to my trainings and retreats for therapists. Thank you for the inspiration and the permission. You offer central themes and an individualized perspective As a collection of psychotherapy tales, I think of Creatures of a Day as a series. Like a series of paintings that are created around central themes, your tales invite us to look at the existential themes of aging, death, and connectedness. And, just like a painting series, each reader will take with them a message that is individualized and of unique importance to him/her. In this way, you are truly exhibiting your art as a writer and a psychotherapist. In Creatures of a Day, two patients read the same book and take from it a very different, but beautifully applicable, message. A nurse perceives the angry words she hissed to her dying patient completely opposite of the way in which they were received by the woman she was treating. And a case that you filed away as a blunder turns out to have been a life changer that is only revealed about a decade or so later. This is a reminder to me that while we can’t predict how our art is received, we can in fact commit to creating and collaborating in the very best way we can. You invite humanness and the art of relationship I’d like to let you know that in addition to the invitation to write about my experience as a therapist, I welcome your permission to be human with my clients. And, with that comes a renewed dedication to knowing and experiencing what being human is for me. This means deepening my relationship with my art, continuing my work in therapy, and showing up with the same honesty and openness that you let us see in your book. You make risk a good thing You ask your patients to risk and use this in as a very important subject during the course of treatment. You take several risks in Creatures of a Day, and show us that risks are a vital part of being an authentic and real therapist. You show us that in your work you are just being honest and attending to your experience and the client’s experience. In fact it is more risky to be untruthful or hide than it is to show up and attend the the relationship. You inspire me I won’t stop practicing. You inspire me to continue to write about my own work. And in my own small way, carry your legacy forward. Once again, thank you for your guidance, your influence, and your legacy. Lisa Mitchell, MFT, ATR, LPC www.innercanvas.com
