Natural wool and alpaca sock for adults made in Italy by Lana Bambini.  A chunky knitted wool sock with a unique blend of untreated wool and alpaca, now improved with the addition of cotton and hemp for durability. The perfect sock blend. Like wool, alpaca has even greater thermal properties that can adapt to your body temperature to keep it stable.

The wool and alpaca Lana Bambini use for their socks is not treated with any chemicals which preserves the anti-bacterial properties of the fibres and makes it odour resistant - both qualities that make real wool socks perform so well. Wool and alpaca keeps its insulating and temperature regulating properties even while wet. 

Like Hirsch Natur, Lana Bambini socks contain no synthetic content other than a few threads of recycled elastane in the cuff to hold them up, making them totally breathable, odour resistant and healthier for your feet.

More about 100% wool socks or socks without nylon. Like our Hirsch Natur socks, Lana Bambini socks are made from a high percentage of untreated pure natural fibres and so are recommended handwash only. They don’t have any nylon in them so with lots of wear the wool will start to wear down and then it’s time to reinforce them or mend any holes that are starting to develop, like in days of old. Because you don’t need to wash them very often, handwashing doesn’t take too long and will save them from shrinking. To minimise unnecessary friction which leads to holes, always wear socks with slippers indoors or wear with well fitting shoes. Walking around on carpet or rough flooring is hard on all natural socks.

Fabric structure: Knitted from 65% undyed wool, 35% undyed alpaca. A few strings of recycled elastane are threaded into the top inch of the cuff to stop the socks from falling down - these make up 0.3-0.5% of total fibres
Biodegradability: Wool, alpaca are 100% biodegradable. Before composting remove the few elastane threads in the cuff to dispose of separately, or cut away top inch to re-use as a hair-tie, garden tie, etc.

Care: Wash only when required. Airing your all natural wool socks is sufficient to clean. Air for 3 days and wear again. Take good care of your feet, it can prevent snags and tears on your socks. We recommend hand washing to preserve the natural properties and performance of the wool and to avoid shrinking.
