Designed in 1980 by Emiliana Martinelli, the Civetta Table Lamp (Italian for "Little Owl") is a masterclass in playful, anthropomorphic design. It’s part of that wonderful era of Italian lighting where function met a sense of character and soul. True to its name, this lamp doesn't just sit on a table it perches, watching over your space with a friendly, geometric silhouette. The Civetta Table Lamp is defined by its two "eyes"—the dual light sources—and its swivel base, allowing it to "turn its head" just like an owl. The upper body rotates on the base, and the two circular light diffusers can be tilted independently. You can point them together for a strong task light or apart to wash a corner in soft, indirect glow. The two opal white methacrylate diffusers give the lamp its personality. When lit, they glow like warm, friendly eyes. A sturdy metal structure (usually in white, black, or red) paired with high-quality opal diffusers that provide a completely glare-free experience. While it's a great desk companion, its diffused light makes it an incredible bedside lamp or "mood" light for a bookshelf.
