BEATON, Cecil

Inscribed for Alan Winstanley all the best wishes Cecil Beaton 1972

One of England's finest bookbinders. Alan Winstanley studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts at Holborn, then studied bookbinding and creative art at Luton and St. Albans. He worked for Sydney Cockerell in Letchworth before moving to Salisbury in 1959 at the invitation of Harry Bailey to take on his craft bookbinding business. Salisbury Bookbinders flourished for forty-one years until Winstanley's retirement in 2000. His work was commissioned for wedding presents to Prince Charles and the late Princess of Wales, and he executed the prestigious job of creating and binding the donor record volume for Lord Mountbatten's memorial at Broadlands. Examples of his conservation work and design can be seen in major collections around the world.

A characteristically witty family memoir from Beaton. The "Bolivian Aunt" of the title was Beaton's Aunt Jessie, a beauty who married "a rich, moustachioed Bolivian" and lived a life of drama in South America. Jessie's style, fashion, flair and theatricality captivated Beaton. His own family paled against her colourful, exotic personality. Jessie crops up frequently in his autobiographical writings and a chapter is dedicated to her in The Glass of Fashion. Her style also inspired many of his Edwardian-era costume and set designs, including those for My Fair Lady

Comfort Color is a trusted brand for comfort and durability. These are great!
Size: X-Large, Color: Blue Spruce, Number of Items: 2
Great price for two of these high quality Comfort Colors tees. I really love the color (a blue/green blend). So pretty. I find their sizing to be true to size and the quality to be great. Washes well. Dries well. Is comfortable and soft without being flimsy and thin. While these are called "heavyweight", it just means a nice, solid tee but isn't overly hot to wear. Very happy with them and I buy these for printing because they do well with decals and washing. These do not get wrinkly in the dryer either.

Love these shirts
Size: Small, Color: Watermelon, Number of Items: 1
Love the fabric. They feel so much better than some of the other shirts I have. They’re thicker and just feel nicer. Love this color too. Got a small and also have another color in medium. Both fit, just depends on how casual I want to look. I’ll be getting more!

Will buy again
Size: Large, Color: Washed Denim, Number of Items: 1
Great shirt! The material is very comfortable on my skin. It is a little tight in the neck but pulling on it ever so slightly fixed it for me, other than that it fits perfectly!

Great price; some fitting notes
Size: Medium, Color: Washed Denim, Number of Items: 2
The shirt looks good, good quality, and the price is pretty much unbeatable. Some notes of fit: compared to the Eddie Bauer men's medium legend wash (my standard), this one has a smaller neck opening and is a bit tighter around the chest. Also, the short sleeves are shorter than Bauer's. These aren't really criticisms, but they may work better or worse depending on the person wearing them.

Comfortable, Colorful, Soft, Affordable.
Size: Large, Color: Ice Blue, Number of Items: 1
These T Shirts are as good as it gets especially at the price point. All cotton, very soft, very colorful. Wash well. If you don’t want them to shrink, I suggest air drying them. I had an XL one for years and pretty much ignored it. Found it again and it’s amazing to wear to bed or around the house. At These prices if you need or want a T shirt, this is the one to get.
