They want something compact, relative to normal sized whetstones, but offer the same sharpening and polishing experience as one would get with quality Japanese whetstones. After some research, there were very few options for quality whetstones that suited the needs of such knife owners.

They want something compact, relative to normal-sized whetstones, but offer the same sharpening and polishing experience as one would get with quality Japanese whetstones. After some research, there were very few options for quality whetstones that suited the needs of such knife owners.  

So, when designing these whetstones, he wanted to offer something the EDC and pocket knife community could appreciate. Ryky designed the “mini set” to be small enough for easy transport, but large enough, to not feel awkward for users with larger hands.  You can comfortably sharpen a 2” blade on a pocket knife, all the way up to 4”+ with ease, and experience what it is like to sharpen and polish on professional grade Japanese whetstones.

How to use:

Do not soak this whetstone. Simply apply water on the surface when ready to use. Rinse and wipe dry with a hand towel when done, and allow air dry at room temp. Do not leave in water.

How to clean:

If the stone’s performance is slowing down, or seems to be diminishing, you can clean using a rust eraser,  nagura stone, dressing stone, or a flattening plate. Be sure to clean the entire surface of the whetstone when using any of these methods to ensure even wear of the whetstone’s surface.
