Overview
The Brown Dog Gadgets Flat Fish is a paper circuitry project designed to directly support student exploration of the circuitry involved in building underwater robots!
Are you a robotics coach who wants to firm up some core concepts used in your real ROVs or teach ROV circuitry, but also hate getting wet? Then the Flat Fish is the project for you! This paper circuits project is really an ROV simulator in disguise! Have your students work in pairs to build their own working control box that acts just like a REAL ROV control box. But on paper. The Flat Fish is a great companion piece for educators looking to expand their students' understanding of robotics.
Also included with the Flat Fish are our fantastic lesson plans and activity videos. Just follow our guides and your students will be one step closer to mastering the world of underwater ROVs.
The Flat Fish comes in a '5 Pack' and is appropriate for 5-15 children (1-3 kids per set of materials). The kit comes with 5 complete sets of electronics, conductive Maker Tape, and large card stock template. Please keep in mind that while many of the parts in this kit can be reused, most of the parts CAN NOT.
This kit is design to be ready to go out of the box, but you will need scissors for each group of students. It is also recommended to have a set of Wire Strippers available if needed.
Warning: Kit includes small parts. These are a choking hazard. Not intended for children under the age of 10.
