Four development criteria in AC Schnitzer silencer development

1. Sound Engineering
Each vehicle undergoes its own sound development in the sound lab, before the exhaust systems are tested at all possible rev ranges, both indoors and outdoors, and during a drive-by. The extensive test drives take place on racetracks and in public transport.

2. Accuracy of fit
For all vehicle types and engine variants, the floor pan is analysed for its installation space. The sound box is then precisely defined with all standard mounting points. It is important to ensure reduced exhaust backpressure while simultaneously determining the optimal flow path to achieve the best performance in terms of torque and horsepower. Last but not least, the aerodynamic development in the rear apron area is optimally adapted to the exhaust systems and tailpipe variants, if necessary.

3. Diversity
The exhaust variants offered by AC Schnitzer start with tailpipes and extend through silencers and twin silencers to complete exhaust systems and downpipes including sports catalysts.

4. Material/Quality
Only high-quality stainless steel materials are used in our exhaust systems.

EC type-approval
The approval of AC Schnitzer special parts for road use is a key goal for us when developing new components. This is also crucial when developing new exhaust systems, mufflers, and sound pipes. Most AC Schnitzer sports rear silencers have an EC type approval. An entry in the vehicle documents is not required if the EC type approval is present.
