The SURGEx C1020 is a piston-operated water hammer arrestor, size 'AA', constructed from hard-drawn seamless copper and integrated with a Lead-Free brass TEE, size DN20 (¾"). This device absorbs shock caused by sudden changes in water flow direction, preventing damage to pipes, valves, and fixtures. Its primary applications include washing machines and dishwashers, but it can also be used in general plumbing. The BSP swivel connection allows for direct fitting to the washing machine or dishwasher inlet connection. The BSP standard is widely adopted in various countries, including Australia, New Zealand, the UK, and many others.
The C1020 can be used in cold and hot water and in new or old installations. The C1020 had been charged with Nitrogen at factory and does not need to be recharged again. It is maintenance free.
MATERIAL OF CONSTRUCTION
- Body: Hard drawn seamless copper
- Piston: Polypropylene PP
- O-ring: EPDM
- Seal lubricant: Dow-Corning Silicone or equivalent compound approved for use in potable water systems
- Adapter: Lead Free Brass, C46400
OPERATION
SURGEx-C1020 is pre-charged with pressurized gas (Nitrogen) and installed in the plumbing system near the source of the water hammer (such as the washing machine or diswahser solenoid valves). When water flow suddenly stops, the piston inside the arrestor compresses the gas, which absorbs the pressure surge and reduces the risk of damage to the plumbing system. The compressed gas then slowly expands back to its pre-charged state, ready for the next water hammer event.

- Factory pre-charged at 60 PSI (4.2 BAR) with Nitrogen and hermetically sealed, eliminating the need for additional charging after installation.
- Lead-free brass adapter ensures the safety of drinking water.
NOTES:
Correct connection sequence:
- Connect the C1020's swivel female connection directly to the machine's inlet.
- Connect the machine hose to the C1020's male connection.
- Connect the other end of the hose to the wall tap
