Limited Edition Vintage. An elegant nose with aromas of white blossom and honeysuckle. Medium dry to taste, the palate is succulent with the flavours of citrus, peaches, ripe fruit balanced by a limey softness. An excellent aperitif and food wine. A fabulous vintage and an elegant wine.

Mondillo is a single vineyard at Bendigo, a sub-region of Central Otago, that was developed and planted by Domenic Mondillo in 2001. The vineyard landscape is made up of three terraces consisting of free-draining alluvial soils. The vineyard is meticulously managed to produce low yielding, high quality, concentrated fruit. Mondillo fruit is always hand harvested when the fruit is at its physiological ripeness ensuring the optimum flavours are captured with a true reflection of terroir.

We were fortunate this year in Central Otago as the 2022 growing season was simply fantastic! Warm temperatures throughout the Summer, followed by a hot, dry Autumn gave us perfect conditions for the ripening season. Quality fruit and fabulous weather during harvest allowed us to hand harvest early in the season with fruit in peack condition. 

Our Riesling is whole bunch pressed; allowed to settle overnight before being racked and inoculated. Cool fermentation over several weeks, then stopped when desired balance was achieved. 

Food Pairing: Delicious with chicken, fish, vegetarian dishes, rich cheese soufflés and Asian fare.
