The embracing, beanbag-inspired shape of the ferm LIVING low-slung Catena sofa is generously dimensioned for all-out relaxation and cosiness: we call it ‘low living’. The name Catena is inspired by the catenary curve, a u-like shape that a chain or cable adopts when supported only at its ends, and which is mirrored in the soft curves and top-stitched seams of the Catena sofa. The homely, module-based designs are made with innovative microcellular foam that ensures maximum comfort as well as durability. 

The clean and classic expression of this striped textile has been designed in partnership with Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. Inspired by the graphic lines and discreet modernism of Louisiana’s iconic architecture, the classic yet bold stripe mirrors the pervasive wooden slats and black window frames distinctive to Louisiana, as does the understated black and sand colourway, while the textured, wool-based fabric intrigues your sense of touch.

This item is part of the ferm LIVING made-to-order customisation concept. The materials have been handpicked in order to create this custom piece – the only one of its kind. Please note it cannot be exchanged or returned.

The brand was conceived in Copenhagen in the home of Trinie with wallpaper, or rather, a lack of it… In 2005, Trinie had just moved into a house with her husband, and just couldn’t seem to find a wallpaper that fit our taste. She therefore decided to make her own, which resulted in ten different wallpaper designs.

After applying to exhibit them at a trade fair in Denmark Trinie couldn’t afford to manufacture all ten designs, so armed with just one wallpaper and a handful of printouts ferm LIVING was created.
