The ultimate Sample-library for Ethnic Instruments from all over the World

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments is the summit of a library that has continuously been growing and improving for over 16 years. In this sixth edition, numerous new instruments with a volume of several gigabytes have been added to the library.

Award-winning film composer Marcel Barsotti (e. g. Pope Joan, The Miracle of Bern) has gathered a gigantic selection of instruments from all over the word from widely varying cultures.

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments now consists of 264 instruments, with roughly 620 patches, 10 construction sets and 5 shaker sets. For the most authentic sound, the instruments were recorded with different play techniques that can easily and precisely be accessed from the patches via key-switches. The library consists of 24.7 gigabytes (uncompressed) of sample data and 23,559 samples. All instruments come in 24 bit and 44.1 kHz.

Over 70 musicians from all over world were involved in the recording process, conducted by music-producer Andreas Hofner. The recordings took place in different local studios with the use of first-class gear such as microphones by Neumann and Brauner, SPL preamplifiers and converters by RME.

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments comprises an incredible spectrum of instruments from the most diverse regions of Asia, Africa, Europe, North- and South-America. Here, you will find the perfect instruments for folkloric, ethnic as well as for modern music.

Library size ~ 15 GB (using Kontakt´s lossless compression)
Kontakt / Kontakt Player 5.6 or newer required!

INSTRUMENTS

The library contains an extensive selection of stringed, plucked and bowed instruments, as well as the most different woodwinds including numerous flutes and, of course, a large selection of drums and percussion.

Alongside film-score-proven taikos and big ethnic tom drums, there are hundreds of inspiring loops and even an entire "Gongs, Bells & Metal Type Instruments" category - ranging from the large big feng gong to delicately sparkling wind chimes. New in ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments are some unique sounds such as the two meter spanning gong by Paiste, several new percussion-instruments and a waterphone.

Almost all sections of the predecessor have been expanded once again. In addition, a couple of instruments of ETHNO WORLD 5 have been re-recorded. Among them is a new mandolin and a great sounding banjo, programmed with countless articulations and licks by one of Germany’s best banjo-players, Rüdiger Helbig.

Furthermore, you will now find a concertina, an autoharp, a Japanese koto, the aforementioned new mandolin with multiple play styles, a South-American charango, a bansuri, bass quena and an Indian flute plus additional play styles for the instruments launeddas, mancosedda, dvojacka and the Irish traverse flute.

With its selection of instruments, ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments is the perfect library for film- and television productions that demand authentic sounds from specific regions of the world. Naturally, these instruments will work in music productions of diverse genres that embrace these specific sonic elements - from pop to ambient to dance.

CONTENT

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments contains all sounds of the previous versions, categorised in “Bowed Instruments”, “Stringed Instruments”, “Woodwind & Brass”, “Key Instruments”, “World Drums”, “World Percussion” and “Gongs, Bells & Metals”.

A good number of special instruments were additionally recorded for version 6. Among them is the new “Gamelan” category. The instruments were recorded in Munich's Stadtmuseum and contain two different gamelan orchestras from Bali and Java, available in slendro, pelog and international tunings. Here, you will find more than 25 instruments such as kempli, kendhang drums, cheng cheng, bells, kecer cymbals, kethuk and kempiang.

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments also unlocks an entire new region by offering a complete ensemble of alpine folk music including plucked instruments, brass as well as male and female yodelers. Find instruments like the Styrian harmonica, a nylon stringed concert guitar, zither, raffele, dulcimer, alpenhorn, flugelhorn, trumpet, trombone, tuba, folk-violin and two clarinets. And of course it includes an acoustic bass.

For historical contexts, such as historic dramas or fantasy movies, ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments offers a large selection of medieval instruments, among them a hurdy gurdy, renaissance lute, fife, doucaine, shawm, pasalterium, pump organ and a shruti box. In a nutshell: every instrument for songs about fire and ice.

THE INTERFACE

ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments uses the free Kontakt 5 Player by Native Instruments as its sample-engine and can of course be used with the full version of Kontakt 5, too. For the new version, the user-interface's graphic has been completely redesigned and optimized for ultra fast access. There are numerous editing possibilities as well as innovative functions. ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments supports the Native Kontrol Standard (NKS), which allows tagging and interaction with the NI Komplete Kontrol keyboards and NI Maschine.

Further additions are a new waveform display, visualization of the sample-start-offset as well as a clearer use of the effects where, among other features, delay times are now displayed in tempo-related note values and milliseconds. The Timemachine (TM PRO) delivers significantly improved audio results with tempo adapted material, especially for polyphonic licks and loops.

And this is not only a benefit for the latest sounds of ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments but also for all sounds of ETHNO WORLD 5 which were completely revised in this regard. At the same time, the number of patches has been reduced, leading to a clearer menu structure.

Thanks to the integrated convolution reverb, all instruments sound exceptionally realistic and natural. Solo instruments additionally offer a high-quality legato mode. Plus, the humanize mode will play each new note with a slightly changed timbre. The micro-tuning allows the use of multiple ethnical tunings and scales. By using top-quality filters, LFOs, tune, automation, harmonizer and further effects, all instruments and voices can be efficiently edited and manipulated if needed - allowing to create new sonic worlds equally suited for modern music genres and film productions.

A unique feature of ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments is the integrated IDB-INFO (Information Database), being directly available from every instrument. Via the menu entry "IDB-INFO", you can access photos of the instruments as well as many details about their original play techniques and tunings, origins and variations. You will also find notes on how to use key-switches, achieving realistic results with the corresponding instrument.

Vocal Expansion

In addition to ETHNO WORLD 6 Instruments, the separate dedicated vocal-library ETHNO WORLD 6 Voices is available. This library offers perfectly matching extensive solo-voices, phrases and choirs from Cameroon, Guinea, China, Iran, Turkey, Bulgaria, Northern Africa, Spain and Ukraine. For version 6, the voices and choirs have been expanded by new contributions from Africa, Arabia, Jamaica and India.

Forged Knives at a Stamped-Knife Price
Size: 18-Piece, Style: Traditional Handle Design
Purchased as a gift for a friend suffering with an old, rusted, chipped set of cheap big-box knives. As far as I can tell, these are one-piece forged/milled knives with a full tang... no idea how Amazon gets them so cheap. I have a set of J.A. Henckels Four-Star that were 5x the price, and these knives are almost as nice in fitment and quality. Some of the grinds at the bolster aren't quite symmetrical, but nothing that functionally affects the knife. Not show-dogs, just old reliable mutts that get you where you need to be. Knives have a good weight and balance, not too heavy but sit well in the hand and have a nice action. The edge out of the box is only average, and the chef's knife had a decent roll to the edge out of the box. However, they sharpen easily and can take a fine edge with a little work with the steel (no word on edge longevity yet, they don't cook that often). The shears come apart for cleaning (which is nice), although I found it a little too unstable when opening them wide, the rivet is at 90* so when taking a big bite they have a tendency to come apart rather than scissor. Changing to a design that doesn't separate until they're fully open would make them much better. The woodblock is pine, and had a distinct pine scent out of the box (I suppose this is an area where they saved money, I would pay a premium to get a bamboo block instead). The exterior was well-finished, but the interiors of the knife slots did have some rough spots and/or splinters from the milling. Nothing that stops it from working as intended, a little back and forth solved the majority of problems. Friend hand washed them after receiving them, but left them damp. Water spots, but no rust on any of the blades, the steel had light surface rust that came off with a scrubby sponge and soap. Overall I remain optimistic they will stand up to the abuse of a forgetful cook. Having bought expensive German steel, and now these, I daresay I would probably be unable to tell the difference between the two in the kitchen.

This is an inexpensive quality knife set!
Size: 18-Piece, Style: Traditional Handle Design, Size: 18-Piece, Style: Traditional Handle Design
I have been a Chef for 17 yrs. and from experience know you don't get quality in an inexpensive knife set. This AmazonBasics Premium set really impressed me. The knives I use and have at home are mixed matched because I like good hefty knives. My wife always rags on me that the knives look crappy, so I got on here and started reading reviews. I was not gonna spend alot of money on a set knowing that I have good knives already. Then I saw this set, and looked at the video. I got them in TWO days, and when I opened the package I was expecting the block to be split, chipped, or have saw marks. As you can see the one I got was flawless. I then took out the chefs knife and smiled. Easily comparable to a 8" Zwilling JA Henckels Pro Traditional Chefs Knife. It has the same quality, heft, and balance. TRUST ME I KNOW!!!! Beautiful knife. The thickness of the blade is equal to my Victorinox Fibrox Chefs Knife and I paid $45. for that knife alone!!! This here is a quality product at a good price. Treat them with respect and they will last for YEARS. If your looking for a good complete set, a nice wedding gift, of just looking to replace the "crappy" set you have look no further.

Amazing for the price
Size: 9-Piece, Style: Traditional Handle Design
At a higher price they would have been 4 or 3 stars, but for $50 this is an insane deal. The steel is pretty good quality. It almost seems like it's hardened VG-10 but I think they would advertise that if it were so I'm guessing it's a cheaper stainless steel that just comes harder without being treated though I'm just speculating based on price. Anyways they're flat ground, take an edge easily, and hold it reasonably well. Nicer knives would certainly hold an edge longer but I'm pretty happy with them. The flat ground shape of the blade is actually ever so slightly convex as well, it's not too apparent in use but you can certainly see it in the reflection. The serration on the bread knife is the inverse of what I would prefer, rounded metal with points cut into it vs points extending from the blade with the rounded parts cut out. When the rounded parts are cut out it's easy to sharpen. When the points are cut out it's almost impossible to sharpen. The handles are the downfall of the knives. They're not smoothly finished and while they look alright they feel like a cheaply cut (although very solid) piece of plastic which is exactly what they are. A little bit better finishing on the handles would really improve the knives. The holding block serves it's purpose well. The sharpener is ok but below average, though the rough steel rod sharpeners just aren't great to begin with. Diamond coated rods are much better, though ceramic rod sharpeners are the best. Overall I love the knives and I'm glad I bought them. For the price they're the best deal I've ever found, no question. I love that there is no logo on them, but I just don't like to see branding in general even if it's a premium brand. If you're buying this for the bread knife or the sharpener, don't, they're not good. If you want the look and feel of a $300+ knife set, don't buy this, you'll be disappointed. If you want a good quality knife set but aren't willing to spend $300+ then absolutely buy these, they're great.

Best steamer on market hands down
Size: Standard, Size: Standard
If you want to really deep clean your home then this will be your best friend. Comes with several different attachments which is great. It’s light weight so not heavy to carry around. So easy to put together or change attachments. They give you a measuring cup for the exact amount of water you need with a funnel so no mess putting water in. Heats up super fast which is awesome. Like i said light weight but strong steamer. The first thing i used it on was my oven which is 8 or 9 years old. From cooking especially holidays there was grease etc on it. I used the oven cleaners that say removes grease with one wipe Nope it those products actually ruined top of my stove made it dull and even other parts almost a rust look which I am not happy with. Wish I knew about this amazing machine before I ever used the store bought oven cleaner. Like I said it comes with several attachments ones for steaming your floors amazing. An attachment for grout also did an amazing job I was shocked my shower looks brand new my floors look brand new also. Another attachment is for steaming shower doors, walls, furniture and clothes works awesome. Another attachment for hard to reach places super amazing. Oh and the handle can come apart so you can make it long for when your steaming floors then make it smaller to carry around to do all the other steaming you want to do. Best part is that it didn’t break the bank the price was well worth it. I first saw this steamer on TickToc like with other items I have bought. But my go to place to see if these items are on Amazon cause Amazon is my go to place to shop, also the prices are always cheaper and you can get it in 2 days or other things I bought within hours. Where tik tok it takes weeks to get and always more expensive. So thank you Amazon for being an amazing company. If i could give more stars for this steamer I would give it a 20 star that’s how great it works. One thing I forgot to do was take a picture of my stove before but I did after. You can see where those store products ruined areas I mentioned. That was not caused by this amazing product.
