The Millerods DreamFreaK was Australia’s first purpose-designed, ‘big-bait’ casting rod released in 2016. Initially available only as a custom rod build, it has carved a niche in the Aussie big bait scene as a high performance yet no-nonsense weapon that has accounted for scores of huge Murray cod.

Now available as an entirely new production rod model, Ian has taken all the attributes of the original rod and redesigned the DreamFreak into a big-bait rod for everyone!

At 7’10” overall length, the DreamFreaK 710XH is a serious casting tool, well suited to open water and impoundment fishing with lures in the 3-8oz (85-225gm) bracket. This model has a huge sweet spot of casting weights between 3.5-6oz (100-170gm), covering a wide variety of popular 8-12” big-baits including offerings from international brands such as Westin, Megabass, ABT, Gan Craft, 22^nd Century, Huddleston, Spro, Deps as well as home-grown big fish catchers from Nutterjuck, Mudeye, Bassman and others.

Designed with detachable handle for convenience, our 2pc ferrule construction is so light and unobtrusive most don’t even realise this is not a 1pc rod.

The highly regarded Millerods Control Freak handle maintains the sensitivity of this big rod, giving excellent feed-back so you know exactly what your lure is doing and also helps to maintain the lightweight integrity of this rod.

The DreamFreaK has amazing balance rarely found in other ‘swimbait’ rods, which further enhances sensitivity and helps reduce fatigue when casting big lures.

Fitted with our ‘slick-flow’ 11+1 guide train of Fuji Titanium-SiC ‘K’ guides, this is a weapon of long-range presentation. You will be surprised at easily this rods casts, assisting the angler over even the longest session of throwing big, heavy lures.

Also fitted with our exclusive Heavy Duty Hook Keeper, specifically designed by Miller that can not only hold several ounces of lure, but is also 100% tangle free and positioned for easy access.
