INTRODUCTION:

Welcome to the Prepare a Schedule of Rates for Civil Works course. This course only includes a challenge assessment designed to assess your knowledge and skills required to demonstrate competence in interpreting civil works schedule of rates requirements, identifying labour, material and subcontractor service needs, obtaining and assessing quotations, calculating rates, completing schedules and maintaining current rate information.

Preparing a schedule of rates for civil works involves obtaining work requirements, applying project documentation, listing labour, materials and subcontractor services, documenting specifications, inviting and assessing quotations, and calculating rates for use in civil works activities. In real workplace practice, this skill area is important because schedules of rates must provide accurate, agreed and current pricing information to support project costing, supplier selection, subcontractor engagement, approvals, filing and ongoing review.

The course assessment focuses on your ability to obtain, interpret and confirm schedule of rates requirements; access and apply required documentation; identify and agree on labour, material and subcontractor service lists; document material specifications and subcontractor service details; prepare, approve and issue invitations to quote; assess quotation documents against specifications; select suppliers; calculate scheduled material, subcontractor and labour rates using quoted prices, hourly labour costs and labour cost factors; complete, submit, approve and file schedules of rates; provide clarification, review application, recommend improvements and maintain current rates.

By successfully completing this course assessment, you will have demonstrated that you can prepare a schedule of rates for civil works by interpreting work requirements, developing agreed labour, material and subcontractor service information, documenting specifications, managing quotations, calculating accurate rates, completing approval and filing processes, and supporting review, clarification and improvement of rate information.

Great structure
Format: Paperback
I had to get the book for class, so did not exactly get it because I “wanted to.” It was a good read though. I liked the structure of each section. Everything simple enough to understand while also diving a bit deeper.

A must have for every intelligence professional - collector or analyst!
Format: Paperback
An excellent resource for any intelligence collector or analyst. The chapters are written by world-class experts in each discipline with an excellent final chapter on collection management written by Drs. Lowenthal and Clark. Each chapter defines the elements of the particular intelligence discipline, its history and producers, as well as how the INT is managed and explores likely future trends. An extensively researched and documented text that is nonetheless an approachable resource that would make an excellent addition to any intelligence related syllabus.

Good Review of the Intel Disciplines
Format: Kindle
I rented this book as required for an intelligence collections course I as taking. It is a good rundown on the different INT disciplines and the bureaucratic organizations managing the different INT categories. This book does not really touch on the various collection programs used to manage collections, or what the nomenclature of those requirements are, so reading this book will not teach you about intelligence collection management beyond gaining a foundational understanding of what the various INTs are used for.
