Reproduction of Garden Vegetables I by Carol Rowan

Carol Rowan — "Garden Vegetables I" is a compelling example of contemporary still life painting that draws upon the rich tradition of European genre painting while reimagining it through a modern, painterly lens. The work aligns with the broader trend of botanical illustration, yet it departs from strict naturalism through its expressive use of color and soft, impressionistic brushwork. Compositionally, the piece employs a centered, vertical format that creates a sense of stability and focus, drawing the viewer's eye to the richly textured vegetables and the implied warmth of the setting. The use of a warm, earthy palette—dominated by burnt orange and olive green—establishes a harmonious and inviting atmosphere, while the subtle variations in hue and value create a sense of depth and volume. The artist's technique, characterized by loose, visible strokes, emphasizes the tactile quality of the subjects and the play of light on their surfaces, evoking the immediacy of a moment captured in time. This work is situated within a lineage of artists who have celebrated the everyday beauty of the domestic sphere, from the Dutch masters of the 17th century to modern photographers like Irving Penn. Its interpretive significance lies in its ability to transform a simple arrangement of vegetables into a profound meditation on the quiet dignity of everyday life, offering a moment of visual and emotional respite in a world of constant motion.

Great Shirts…I’ve Bought most Colors.
Color: White-red, Size: Large
I’ve bought a dozen of these shirts in different colors in the last 10-12 months. Very nice material and launders and/or dry cleans great. Outstanding price for a nice looking shirt!

This shirt brings mens dress shirts to a new level. My husband wears it with slacks or jeans.
Color: Army Green, Size: X-Large
Kudos to whoever designed and manufactured this shirt! It is stylish with interesting details. It can be gently washed in your washing machine and dried on a warm setting. The fabric is next level, feels like cotton with a tech stiffness to it. It has a dull sheen. I'd say "give it a shot". I ordered one and it was sooo handsome that I got my husband some other colors. Bonus.....The cut is generous enough to make a bit of a paunch disappear.

Well-made shirt.
Color: Light Grey, Size: Small
Material doesn’t feel light or flimsy. Very soft and fits well. Not too loose or too tight. Plan to purchase another one down the road.

Fit and color are spot on
Love the shirt and the material is great! It washes and iron well. The fit was perfect on my husband and he really liked it as well. We will definitely be ordering more colors. We got the blue color and it is just as pictured. Love the strip also it really adds to the look.

Shirt Without Buttons
Color: Navy Blue, Size: 3X-Large
I bought about seven of these shirts. They are soft and very comfortable to wear. However, it appears to be a major quality control issue with these shirts, regardless of the color. The buttons keep falling off the shirt on their own. Even when I wash them in the washing machine, on delicate. And the most frustrating thing about the whole ordeal, I have no extra buttons to replace those that fell off. I have shirts that I have had for years, and the buttons are still on the shirts. What's more, they each have extra buttons, one small and one regular size. I guess since the shirt is made in China, they make money by using low quality thread and not putting any replacement buttons. You be the judge, to buy or not to buy, if you can deal with the buttons coming off and nothing to replace them with. The choice is yours.
