Fast, Reliable Timber-to-Steel Fixing – Now with Exterior-Grade Protection
TIMCO Collated Timber to Light Section Screws – Countersunk – Wing-Tip – Self-Drilling – Exterior – Silver Organic
TIMCO Collated Timber to Light Section Screws are high-performance fixings designed for timber-to-steel applications where exterior durability is essential. With a corrosion-resistant silver organic coating, they offer long-lasting protection in outdoor or humid environments. The wing-tip design clears timber fibres before engaging the self-drilling point, which cuts into light gauge steel (up to 2.5mm) without pre-drilling. Supplied collated on plastic strips for rapid use with autofeed screwdrivers.
Key Features & Benefits
- Wing-Tip Design: Wings cut through timber cleanly and snap off upon steel contact, ensuring fast, split-free installation.
- Self-Drilling Point: Penetrates steel up to 2.5mm thick without pilot holes—ideal for metal studs and sections.
- Exterior-Grade Coating: Silver organic plating provides enhanced corrosion resistance for outdoor or exposed applications.
- Collated for Efficiency: Plastic strip collation for autofeed screwdrivers allows rapid, continuous fixing on site.
- Countersunk Head with Ribs: Flush finish in timber; ribs under the head reduce surface bulge and improve clamping.
- PH2 Drive: Compatible with standard Phillips No.2 bits for reduced cam-out and consistent drive.
Application Areas
- Timber battens and sheathing to light gauge steel
- External wall and partition construction
- Outdoor timber frame installations
- Modular/offsite timber-to-steel systems
