A single thick cut slice of golden toast, generously spread with a glistening layer of butter and golden jam, floats through deep space with the serene, unhurried ease of an object that has absolutely nowhere to be.

On the toast are two people in 1960s/70s swimwear, a woman in a white bikini lying on her front, completely relaxed, a man in blue swimming trunks on his back, hands behind his head, the universal posture of someone who has found the perfect spot and has no intention of moving for anyone or anything, including, apparently, the infinite cosmos surrounding them on all sides. They are sunbathing on a piece of buttered toast floating through the universe. The galaxies continue in every direction. Nobody is concerned.
