Ylang Ylang is simply beautiful.

If you have to have only one essential oil in your collection it’s probably should be Ylang Ylang. This was our first essential oil & it's one of the reasons why we started the Surf Coast Scent Company. 

It is made from the flower of the Cananga Odorata (Ylang Ylang) tree which is found in the rainforests of the Philippines, Indonesia, India, Indochina, Malaysia, Polynesia & Australia.

To clear up any arguments, Ylang Ylang is pronounced “EE-lang EE-lang” & comes from the Tagalog word for “wilderness” – it references where the “Perfume Tree” is naturally found.

Ylang Ylang is an ingredient found in many perfumes & cosmetic products because it smells so wonderful & mixes well with other fragrances. It has a strong, sweet & floral scent it that easily fills a space.

It has been used historically as an aphrodisiac & to ease stress, anxiety & tension. It is commonly found in skin products because it has active ingredients that are antimicrobial, anti-fungal & antibacterial. It may also sooth inflammation & prevent excessive dryness & oiliness.

Many hair tonics also include Ylang Ylang because it is said to promote the growth of hair & new skin.

Smells Like.

Strong middle note that is delightfully sweet, exotic & floral. Our Ylang Ylang is a “Grade 1” distillation which means it is the sweetest of the various types & best suited for use in our products.

Uses.

Bespoke: Ylang Ylang is the scent that we use to do the initial testing for all our products. Everything simply has to work with Ylang Ylang or we don't even develop it. All of our products are simply amazing when scented with this delightful fragrance & for you or as a gift for somebody else this is a guaranteed hit.

Vaporiser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Diffuser: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Burner: Start with 6 to 8 drops.

Bath: Add 8 to 12 drops to your bath.

Shower: 3 or 4 drops in the corner of the shower.

Sauna: Add 6 to 8 drops to your ladle of water and pour over hot rocks.

Hands & feet: Add 2 to 4 drops to a bowl of warm water and soak.

On the go: Open the cap and inhale straight from the bottle or add a drop or two to your face mask.

Bed: Add a couple of drops to your pillow.
