The Patek Philippe Complications Hour and Minute On Demand, Automaton Ref. 5249R-001, unveiled at Watches and Wonders 2026, marks the brand’s first contemporary automaton wristwatch, blending storytelling with haute horlogerie.

Inspired by “The Crow and the Fox”, the animated dial brings time to life: the fox’s moving muzzle and paw indicate the hours, while a unique minutes hand, tipped like a piece of cheese, completes the display. Crafted from 18K gold in a rich brown opaline finish, the dial features hand-engraved appliques requiring over 150 hours of meticulous work.

Housed in a rose gold Officer-style case with a turban crown, it is powered by the self-winding 31-260 PS HMD AU caliber, visible through a sapphire case back. A diamond-set small seconds adds a constant sense of motion.

Finished with a brown alligator leather strap, this Rare Handcraft timepiece is a poetic fusion of mechanical artistry and timeless craftsmanship.
