London is often called the best place in the world to eat - a city where a new landmark restaurant opens each day, where vertiginous towers, sprawling food halls and central neighbourhoods contain the cuisines of every country in the world. Yet, this London is not where Londoners usually eat. There is another version of London that exists in its marginal spaces, where food culture flourishes in parks and allotments, in warehouses and industrial estates, along rivers and A-roads, in baths and in libraries. A city where Londoners eat, sell, produce and distribute food every day without fanfare, where its food culture weaves in and out of daily urban existence. In a city of rising rents, of gentrification, and displacement, this new and updated edition ofLondon Feeds Itself, edited by the food writer and editor of Vittles, Jonathan Nunn, shows that the true centres of London food culture can be found in ever more creative uses of space, eked out by the people who make up the city. Its chapters explore the charged intersections between food and modern London's varied urban conditions, from markets and railway arches to places of worship to community centres. 26 essays about 26 different buildings, structures and public amenities in which London's vernacular food culture can be found, seen through the eyes of writers, architects, journalists and politicians - all accompanied by over 125 guides to some of the city's best vernacular restaurants across all 33 London boroughs. Contributors: Carla Montemayor, Jenny Lau, Mike Wilson, Claudia Roden, Stephen Buranyi, Rebecca May Johnson, Owen Hatherley, Aditya Chakrabortty, Yvonne Maxwell, Melek Erdal, Sameh Asami, Barclay Bram, Ciaran Thapar, Santiago Peluffo Soneyra, Virginia Hartley, Jess Fagin, Leah Cowan, Ruby Tandoh, Jeremy Corbyn, Dee Woods, Shahed Saleem, Amardeep Singh Dhillon, Zarina Muhammad, Yemisi Aribisala, Nabil Al-Kinani, Sana Badri, Nikesh Shukla.

Hands Down Best on the Market
Scent: Sandalwood, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
I have tried pretty much EVERY beard balm known to man at this point and while some have been okay, what makes this the hands down full on winner for me is not just it's effectiveness but it's scent. A sandalwood product that actually smells like REAL sandalwood and not some sweet, vanilla, gross whatever imitation pretty much every other "sandalwood" scented product out there these days smell like. I am so in love with the scent that I wish this were available as a cologne. As far as it's actual effectiveness, that is also five stars. It's effective without too much shine so it doesn't look too greasy. This is one of the only balms I have found that does NOT break me out. I use it for both my beard and my hair. It's an exceptional pomade! It isn't too greasy, it's got good hold. I'm not sure about conditioning quality yet, but it's been single digits temperature here and normally my beard feels very dry and kind of painful, I don't really know how else to describe it, and I haven't been having that problem since starting this product. Another bonus, it's a great barrier against wind/cold burn. I hope they don't stop selling this product because I for one know I would be a customer for life.

The ultimate beard balm
Scent: Sandalwood, Size: 2 Ounce (Pack of 1)
If you’re looking for a balm that actually absorbs into your skin rather than just sitting on top of it, Sandalwood Beach Balm is a game-changer. I’ve been using it consistently, and it’s become the highlight of my daily routine. Why I’m a fan: The Scent Profile: This isn't your typical "coconut and sunscreen" beach smell. It’s a warm, earthy, and creamy sandalwood that feels grounded and high-end. It’s subtle enough to wear all day but rich enough to notice. Deep Hydration: It has a buttery consistency that melts on contact. It’s incredibly effective at soothing dry, "salty" skin after a day outdoors, leaving a healthy glow without the sticky residue. Versatility: I’ve used it as a body moisturizer, a hand balm, and even a tiny bit on the ends of my hair to tame frizz. It works everywhere. Clean Ingredients: You can tell there aren't a bunch of synthetic fillers. It feels "real" on the skin, and a little bit goes a long way, making the jar last much longer than expected. Final Verdict: This is a must-have for your beach bag or your nightstand. It’s the perfect blend of rugged and refined. My skin has never felt softer or smelled better.
