Six Questions Your D-BAT Franchise Financial Model Must Answer

We built this franchise unit financial model using our own research into high-performance athletic training centers. Key assumptions like the $45,000 franchise fee, $1.18M year-one revenue, and $210,000 EBITDA are pre-populated and fully editable to match your specific territory. Data beats guessing every single time.

When will the unit turn a profit?

The facility reaches its break-even point in March 2026, just three months after the initial launch. By year five, the net profit trajectory accelerates significantly, with EBITDA projected to reach $974,000 as membership and instruction fees scale. Ramp-up speed dictates your survival.

Boost Unit Profitability

  • Maximize membership retention rates
  • Upsell high-margin retail gear
  • Optimize instructor scheduling density
[dynamic_pic9]

How much capital is required?

You will need approximately $950,000 to launch this facility in the US, covering the $45,000 franchise fee and heavy equipment costs. The primary uses of funds are the $350,000 leasehold build-out and the $250,000 investment in professional-grade batting cages. Build-outs always cost more than you think.

Major Capital Uses

  • Leasehold Improvements: $350,000
  • Batting Cages: $250,000
  • Synthetic Turf: $120,000
  • HitTrax Systems: $60,000
[dynamic_pic10]

What is the return on investment?

The model shows a 5-year payback period with an Internal Rate of Return (IRR) of 2.59% and a Return on Equity (ROE) of 1.67. While the initial years focus on recovering the heavy CAPEX, the year-five EBITDA of $974,000 represents a strong mature-unit margin. Patience is a requirement for this asset class.

Key Investor Metrics

  • Internal Rate of Return: 2.59%
  • Years to Payback: 5
  • Year-5 EBITDA: $974,000
[dynamic_pic11]

What is the break-even point?

The monthly break-even point is reached when revenue covers the $12,000 facility rent and the 14.5% total royalty and marketing burden. Membership fees are the most critical driver for reaching this point quickly, as they provide the recurring base to cover fixed overhead. Volume solves almost every problem.

Reach Break-even Faster

  • Pre-sell memberships before opening
  • Bundle retail with instruction fees
  • Maximize cage rental throughput
[dynamic_pic12]

What is the cash runway?

The lowest cash point occurs in June 2026, with a minimum cash balance of $332,000 remaining after the initial build-out and early operations. You should maintain a healthy buffer to manage the timing gaps between the $350,000 leasehold payments and the ramp-up of instruction fees. Watch the June 2026 dip closely.

Protect Unit Cash Flow

  • Negotiate rent abatement for build-out
  • Phase HitTrax system installations
  • Manage opening pro shop inventory
[dynamic_pic13]

How do scenarios change outcomes?

In a high-growth scenario, hitting $2.6M in revenue by year five significantly improves your ROI and shortens the payback period. Conversely, a low-growth case where membership revenue lags can extend the payback period beyond five years and increase the peak cash need. Execution is the gap between cases.

Improve High-Case Odds

  • Execute aggressive local marketing
  • Maintain high instructor productivity
  • Focus on long-term member retention

Great quality chair, regardless of price.
Color: Black+white, Size: Pack of 1, Color: Black+white, Size: Pack of 1
Great quality chair, regardless of the price, period. So well packaged that it took almost as long to unwrap as assemble. Assembly was easy (loved the Allen wrench with sturdy handle). I am 6'2" and the fit and height adjustments work well for my height. Comfort is personal, so I like the semi-firmness of the seat. While the chair is constructed of heavy gauge plastic the base is solid metal with enamel finish: I love the look. The arm rests line up perfectly to my computer keyboard. I expect many, many years of service.

Great Value for a Comfortable Home Office Chair
Color: Black, Size: Pack of 1, Color: Black, Size: Pack of 1
I’ve been using this chair for a couple of days now, and honestly, it’s been a solid upgrade from my old one. I work from home most days, so comfort matters a lot—and this chair delivers better than I expected for the price. The first thing I noticed was the lumbar support. It’s actually adjustable and makes a noticeable difference, especially if you tend to sit for long stretches. My lower back used to get sore after a few hours, but that hasn’t really been an issue since switching to this chair. The mesh back is also a nice touch—it keeps things breathable, which I didn’t think I’d care about until I had it. Assembly was pretty straightforward. Took me maybe 20–25 minutes without any frustration. Everything lined up well, and the instructions were clear enough. In terms of comfort, the seat is firm but not hard. It doesn’t feel like one of those super plush chairs, but I actually prefer that because it feels more supportive over time. The reclining feature is smooth, and I like that you can lean back a bit when you need a break. Overall, I’d say this is a great value for a home office setup. If you want something ergonomic and comfortable without spending a fortune, this chair is definitely worth considering.

Excellent Office Chair
Color: Black+white, Size: Pack of 1
I just received my TRALT Office Chair. First of all, I was impressed with the packaging of this item. When I opened the box each piece of the chair was wrapped in plastic or bubble wrap. Everything in the box arrived safely and without damage. Secondly, the instructions to assemble the chair were very each to follow. I was impressed with the Allen wrench which had a handle attached to it. This made screwing in the screws very easy. I was able to assemble the chair without any difficulty. Lastly, the look of the chair and the comfort is exceptional. I ordered the black/white chair which looks amazing. The comfort of the chair is really excellent. My back is supported by the lumbar seat and having the armrests being able to go up when not needed is wonderful. The quality of the chair is definitely worth the price.

a good choice
Color: Black, Size: Pack of 1, Color: Black, Size: Pack of 1
Assembled chair only to find that the lift cylinder was faulty. Would have preferred to be able to just get a replacement cylinder but calling China didn't seem like a viable option. Guessing which one & buying it online would involve paying for a good portion of what the chair cost. Customer service could only offer a replacement or refund. We're disassembling (so much fun?!) to send it back. The chair itself was very comfortable, assembled fairly easily and instructions pretty clear. Again, if we could only have asked the seller for the replacement part......**Update**...Or if the instructions that seemed so clear were clearer!, as we started to disassemble, we decided to see what would happen if the tension knob (see photo) was loosened. IT ALLOWED THE LIFT CYLINDER TO WORK. Not at all what the instructions say. At any rate, we're keeping the chair.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely love this chair! It was super easy to assemble—I had it set up in no time with clear instructions and minimal effort. The comfort level is fantastic; the seat cushion is just right and the back support makes it great for longer sitting sessions. The color is beautiful in person—clean, modern, and adds a fresh pop to the room without being overwhelming. I also really like the smooth wheels and sturdy build; it feels stable and well-made. Overall, this is a great combination of style, comfort, and value. Highly recommend!
