V3: Like our previous WoodRiver® Bench Hand Planes, our version 3 is based on the reliable Bedrock design and feature heavy, stress-relieved ductile iron castings, fully machined adjustable frogs and high carbon steel blades but we took the opportunity between manufacturing runs to do a critical review and make a few improvements. We’ve changed the shape of the rear tote and increased the diameter of the blade adjustment wheel to make advancing the blade a bit easier. We improved the lateral adjustment lever and added a traditional style bearing for better control of the blade. We’ve made numerous changes to the castings that result in better “feedback” and a solid feel to the user. Working closely with our own manufacturer, we’ve continued to make improvements in machining, finish and functionality which we feel have yielded hand planes that are meant to be used and offer an extraordinary value.

Is the sole flat out of the box, or does it need lapping?
The sole is generally flat out of the box, but some users choose to fine-tune it with light lapping for maximum precision. It performs well right away for most applications.
How sharp is the blade from the factory?
The blade comes reasonably sharp, but honing is recommended to achieve optimal performance. A quick touch-up will help you get the best results from the start.

Excellent choice for a gentle daily lotion
I have dry, mature skin, so I’m always looking for a lotion that actually hydrates without feeling heavy or irritating. I’ve been using the Koji White Body Lotion and it’s been a really nice addition to my routine. The formula feels lightweight but still moisturizing enough for my dry skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy film, which I really appreciate.
I like that it contains kojic acid and papaya extract. Over time my skin has looked a bit smoother and more even, and it definitely feels softer after applying. The lotion is pH balanced and free from parabens and artificial dyes, which makes it gentle enough for everyday use on my more mature, sensitive skin.
Another thing I enjoy is the light, pleasant scent, it’s subtle and fresh without being overpowering. Overall, it keeps my skin feeling hydrated, nourished, and comfortable throughout the day, and I’ve had no irritation. It’s a good daily lotion if you want something moisturizing with skin brightening ingredients that still feels gentle.

Silky, Effective Body Lotion With Strong Scent
In the winter, my skin is prone to becoming very dry and flaky. I ordered this "Kojic Acid & Papaya Body Lotion - Exfoliating, Hydrating, Moisturizing, Skin Care for Sun-Damaged Skin" by Koji White hoping it could help keep my skin from feeling dry and itchy. I ordered this lotion in mid Dec 2025, and the bottle is labeled with a manufacturing date in late Oct 2025 and an expiration date of Oct 2028. I’d consider this a very fresh product. The pump works smoothly, and I didn’t have any trouble getting it to dispense lotion. The label lists Thailand as the country of manufacture. I also liked that the listing describes the product as vegan and free of animal testing. I’ve been vegetarian for about 30 years, so this matters to me.
I’m aroma sensitive, and this lotion lists fragrance as one of the ingredients, which is always a gamble for me. I definitely detect tropical fruity notes, and papaya is listed in both the name and ingredient list. There’s also a noticeable floral scent. I don’t usually like floral fragrances, but the fruity and floral scents complement each other fairly well. Unfortunately, the scent is much stronger than I prefer and seems to linger.
I really like how this lotion feels on my skin. It’s a little less creamy than I expected given how hydrating it is, but it applies smoothly and evenly. It absorbs quickly without leaving my skin feeling sticky or greasy. My skin feels hydrated and silky smooth after applying, and it’s made a noticeable difference in how the skin on my legs looks and feels. Unfortunately, I’ve only been able to use it on my legs when I’m wearing pants because the fragrance is too intense for me. I love the results and wish I could comfortably use it all over.
Overall, I really like this lotion. It has everything I look for to help prevent dry winter skin. The only drawback for me is that it’s more heavily scented than I prefer. At the time of my order, the 250 ml (8.45 oz) bottle cost $20. Given the quality and performance, that feels like a good value. For people who enjoy more strongly scented products, this lotion could be an excellent choice. Since fragrance preference is so personal, I won’t be deducting any stars from my rating.
