🐟 7" STRIKER Vivid 7cv, color "Vivid" display with CHIRP + ClearVü sonar and mid-size form factor. Priced at $449.

Garmin STRIKER Vivid 7CV 7" Fish Finder with Transducer

The Garmin STRIKER Vivid 7cv is the mid-entry tier, a step up from the STRIKER 4/Plus 4 entry tier and a step down from the ECHOMAP UHD2 mainstream tier. Priced at $449. It's a mid-size 7" fishfinder with a color "Vivid" display and CHIRP + ClearVü sonar. Garmin uses "Vivid" to describe the color palette, sharper, brighter, higher-contrast colors than the original STRIKER line, making fish and structure more distinguishable at a glance. This model is transducer included. The included GT20-TM transom-mount transducer delivers CHIRP and ClearVü down imaging, the cv sonar suite.

The value story is specific: you get ClearVü down imaging at a price point where ECHOMAP UHD2 doesn't go. The STRIKER Vivid line doesn't support LiveScope, Panoptix live sonar, LakeMaster VX cartography chips, or NMEA 2000 networking. If you don't need those features, you get real CHIRP + ClearVü at $200 less than the comparable ECHOMAP UHD2 unit.

Key Features

  • 7" Color "Vivid" Display, sharper colors than original STRIKER, button controls (NOT touchscreen)
  • GT20-TM Transducer Included, CHIRP + ClearVü in a transom-mount unit
  • CHIRP + ClearVü Sonar, mid-entry tier sonar suite
  • Built-In GPS + Quickdraw Contours, record 1-foot lake maps as you fish, up to 2 million acres
  • ActiveCaptain Community Compatible, share and download Quickdraw maps
  • IPX7 Waterproof
  • Low Power Draw, small battery friendly
  • No LiveScope or Panoptix Support, mid-entry tier limit
  • No LakeMaster VX / CoastMaster Cartography Chip Support, Quickdraw only for mapping
  • No Touchscreen, button controls only
  • No NMEA 2000 Networking, standalone unit, won't network with other Garmin electronics

Who This Is For

This unit is best for bass anglers on budget, crappie fishermen, striper anglers, and anglers wanting mid-size display without stepping up to ECHOMAP pricing. Step up: the ECHOMAP UHD2 73cv (~$650) adds touchscreen, pre-loaded cartography, NMEA 2000, and (for the 7" only) LiveScope compatibility. Step down: STRIKER Vivid 7cv is already the entry point for the color Vivid tier.

Choose This If...

  • You want ClearVü at the lowest price tier that includes them, step up from STRIKER 4/Plus 4 without reaching ECHOMAP UHD2 pricing.
  • You don't need LiveScope or Panoptix, this tier doesn't support live sonar at all.
  • You're fine with button controls instead of touchscreen, if you want touchscreen, step up to ECHOMAP UHD2.
  • You don't need pre-loaded cartography, Quickdraw records YOUR lake maps. If you want Navionics or LakeMaster VX, step up to ECHOMAP UHD2.
  • You fish 16-20 ft bass boats, aluminum boats, pontoons, and mid-size fishing rigs, the 7" size fits.
  • Your budget is around $449, mid-entry tier with real ClearVü.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does "Vivid" mean?

"Vivid" refers to Garmin's color palette, sharper, brighter, higher-contrast colors than the original STRIKER line. Makes fish arcs, bottom composition, and ClearVü structure detail easier to see at a glance.

Does this support LiveScope or Panoptix?

No. The STRIKER tier does not support LiveScope Plus, LiveScope XR, LiveScope Original, or any Panoptix live sonar product. If live forward-looking sonar is on your wish list, step up to ECHOMAP UHD2 7"+ tier.

What's the difference between cv and sv?

"cv" means CHIRP + ClearVü (down imaging only). "sv" adds SideVü side imaging. The 7cv is a cv unit without SideVü. Step up to 7sv or 9sv for SideVü.

Can I add a cartography chip (LakeMaster VX, Navionics+)?

No. STRIKER Vivid units use Quickdraw Contours for mapping, you record your own lake contours as you fish. They do NOT support LakeMaster VX, CoastMaster Premium, Navionics+, or any other cartography chip. If you want pre-loaded maps, step up to ECHOMAP UHD2.

Does it support NMEA 2000 networking?

No. STRIKER Vivid is a standalone unit, does not network with other Garmin electronics. If you need networked radar, cameras, or multi-display setups, step up to ECHOMAP UHD2 or Ultra 2.

Is this used in tournaments?

Rarely at competitive levels. STRIKER Vivid is recreational/mid-entry tier. Tournament anglers typically run ECHOMAP UHD2, Ultra 2, or GPSMAP units with LiveScope or Panoptix live sonar.

How is this different from ECHOMAP UHD2?

Three main differences: (1) ECHOMAP UHD2 has touchscreen; STRIKER Vivid has buttons. (2) ECHOMAP UHD2 supports LakeMaster/CoastMaster/Navionics cartography chips; STRIKER Vivid is Quickdraw-only. (3) ECHOMAP UHD2 7"+ supports LiveScope via GLS 10; STRIKER Vivid does not at any size. Pricing reflects these differences, ECHOMAP UHD2 is typically $200-$300 more at comparable screen sizes.

Can I use this for ice fishing?

Yes, with an ice transducer accessory (sold separately). The STRIKER Vivid 5cv Ice Fishing Bundle ($450) is purpose-built if you want a complete ice setup, saves the hassle of buying ice transducer separately.

No chemicals that will be harmful!
Set name: Tube - 5 oz. 2-Pack
Ordered this mineral sunscreen looking for something simple and effective, and it’s been a solid option so far. The zinc oxide formula is the main reason I went with it. It doesn’t rely on the same chemical ingredients found in a lot of other sunscreens, which is a big plus if you’re trying to avoid that. It feels like a cleaner option overall. Coverage is good. It spreads evenly and holds up well, even with some water exposure. I’ve used it outdoors for extended periods, and it does its job without needing constant reapplication. It does leave a slight white cast at first, which is pretty typical with mineral sunscreens, but it fades in as you rub it in. Not completely invisible, but manageable. After a few uses, what stood out most is that it doesn’t have a strong smell and doesn’t irritate the skin. It just works without a lot of extras. Compared to standard chemical sunscreens, this feels more straightforward and less harsh, especially for regular use. For the price, it’s a great value. You’re getting strong sun protection without the added ingredients some people try to avoid. If you’re looking for a mineral-based sunscreen that’s effective and a bit cleaner in formulation, this is a solid choice.

Great mineral sunscreen that actually works
Set name: Tube - 5 oz.
Blue Lizard Sensitive Mineral SPF 50 has become my daily go-to. It goes on smooth, doesn’t leave a weird white cast like some mineral sunscreens, and gives solid protection. I like that it’s 100% mineral with no harsh chemicals and has organic aloe vera in it, so my skin feels hydrated instead of dried out. No greasy feeling, no strong scent, and it holds up well even when I sweat a bit. Been using it for a few weeks now and it performs exactly how I want. Small bottle but a little goes a long way. Definitely recommend if you want a simple, effective mineral option.

Gentle, hydrating with a slight white cast
Set name: Tube - 5 oz.
Really solid mineral sunscreen. Goes on smooth, not too thick, and feels lightweight but still hydrating. It does leave a slight white cast, which I actually like since it feels like better protection. The formula feels gentle and doesn’t irritate my skin. Great for daily use, and the UV color-changing cap is a nice bonus. Would repurchase.

Great sunblock.
Set name: Stick - 0.5 oz.
Love this stuff. It’s the only sunscreen that doesn’t sting my eyes. It works really well. It goes a long way. Lil dab will do ya. Maybe I use too much each application. I live in Florida and put it on my arms and face everyday. It does leave white smudges, smears and handprints on things.

Fabulous product! Made my skin feel soft!
Set name: Tube - 5 oz.
This product goes on smooth and a little goes a long way. I used it today for the first time and was very pleased that it held up to my sweating in the heat doing farm work! It doesn’t bother my very sensitive skin, in fact it is quite soothing. A little goes a long way. With about a quarter size amount I was able to do both arms and my face. I was outside for several hours and didn’t burn like I usually do. It is basically unscented which is nice and isn’t sticky.
