Alat ini dibuat khusus agar bisa digunakan untuk melakukan pemasangan dan pelepasang mur roda yang terpasang sangat kuat pada roda. Kunci roda palang memiliki desain unik seperti palang atau tanda silang, bentuk yang unik ini digunakan untuk mempermudah penggunaan, yaitu untuk mempermudah saat pemutara kunci untuk pelepasan dan pemasangan mur roda. Alat kunci ini terbuat dari baja yang sangat kuat dan dilapisi stanless anti karat sehingga lebih tahan lama.


Kunci roda palang memiliki 4 ujung yang memiliki soket dengan ukuran yang berbeda-beda, dan memiliki kepala soket segi 6 sehingga dapat mencengkram mur dengan erat sehingga tidak akan merusak murnya. Untuk penggunaan kunci roda ini sama dengan penggunaan kunci roda pada biasanya, yaitu pertama pilih ujung soket dengan ukuran kunci yang sesuai dengan mur roda yang ingin dilepas atau dikencangka, kemudian pasang/tangcapkan soket tersebut pada mur yang ingin dilepas atau dikencangkan, dan putar kunci roda palang searah jarum jam untuk mengencangkan mur roda dan berlawanan arah jarum jam untuk pelepasan mur roda.
