Expanding on the organic, pebble-like forms of the Aaland poufs, this armchair is a soft, protective shell designed to nestle the body. It represents a shift in modern luxury toward Biophilic Design—furniture that mimics the irregular, comforting shapes found in nature. Inspired by the smooth, water-worn rocks of the Åland Islands, the armchair features a continuous, wrap-around backrest that merges seamlessly into the seat. Urquiola has stripped away all hard angles, creating a silhouette that feels both primitive and ultra-modern. It is a piece designed for "slow living," encouraging a relaxed, informal posture. The upholstery is crafted from 100% recycled fabrics, specifically developed to have a high-tactile, "chenille-like" feel while meeting the highest durability standards. The internal frame is made of high-resilience polyurethane foam of varying densities, ensuring that while the chair looks soft, it provides ergonomic lumbar support.
